:( I think he's one of those guys that people really underestimate as far as his so called "place in the game" on a grand scale... his stats are just rediculous, did you realize he's 10th in all time scoring? As for active players he's 2nd only to Yzerman. I just don't think many people really attatch those kinds of numbers to him when they think of him.

So, thanks Lucky for all the dazzling goals and leading by exmaple of hard work and determination; the game and me as a fan will miss you! =D> =D> =D>

Yes Sir!!

Of course we will miss him badly!!! I think hes probably the most underrated hockey player around!!
Iam also a huge fan of his game!! Hopefully he will have his number retired in LA (I guess so) and we will him soon see in the HOF for sure!!!

Farewell Luc!!!

uuups, I forgot: last sunday in St. Louis they retired Al McInnis number 2 in the Savvis Center!!! Great D-man with one of the hardest shot ever, probably!!
At least one of the little cheers they had this year in St. Louis!!!.....and of coure they won the game against Edmonton...rare thing this season too, lol!!!

BTW: we had a loooot of big retirements this season: Brett Hull, Mario Lemieux, Messier and McInnis at the end of last one....Luc Robitaille at the end of this one.....Steve Yzerman next??

He always flew under my hockey radar as it were, but it seems he had quite the career. :-k

Francis also retired.

I think Francis is even more underrated than Luc :P

Lots of similarities between Francis (one of my fave player personalities ever) and Luc from what they brought to the game personally, leadership, desire, amazing work ethic, great "in the room", dedicated to the team...

I mentioned that at the beginning of the season though, one of the big things we lost in the lockout year is that so many great players didn't have a chance to have a 'farewell tour' where fans could come to see them play one last time.

Robitaille has always been one of those players that when I heard his name I knew he was a great player but I knew nothing more of him. 'Underated' is definately the way to describe him. I guess that just goes to show that he kept his head down and got on with the job
