EHM The Blue Line

I WANT to call it the nAnimal database, but that wouldnt work all things considered. So im going with Black Karma, which is a team in the Database in the AHL

I plan on replacing everything in the game with something of my own creation, and yours.

My goal is to make it awesome enough to be download worthy, hell, maybe even challenge worthy. Im working on it as a kind of send off to east side hockey manager before FHM comes out and everyone makes databases in that. I like EHM cause I dont need to update anything when I want to play it 8 months later, I can just load up any old database, even this one, and play it for another 9, and never have to worry about getting the newest version. I think EHM will remain top dog, at least with me, so I figure something new would be awesome, but with the same engine. Thats what this is

I will of course be looking for suggestions, such as players, teams, or leagues, or anything; as like I said, Im changing everything

Im going to be starting with the NHL, AHL and CHL, then ill do the top Euro leagues, then the lower NA leagues, then finish it off
This game will be "realistic" but ill be going to town on it, hell, I even want Japan to have a league so I can pit the Highten View Terrece Digitals against the Kanto Pockets

Of course. Im just one guy. I can only do so much "new". I will need your help to put this over the edge of "fun" and "omg this is awesome", so I will always be listening to suggestions. And I will be representing TBL and other hockey forums I go to someway. Fan art, custom logos, stuff like that. Players, team names, etc

If you have difficulty coming up with team names, I can send you a beta version of my Team Name Generator. It'll shortly be able to generate names for the US, Canada, UK and Czech Rep.

P.s. bear in mind that certain teams have to be present in game (such as many/all of the NHL teams). So if you rename the Anaheim Ducks, you'll also have to create a new defunct team called the Anaheim Ducks (with the TM symbol included). You'll need to do a lot of regular testing of starting a new game in EHM in order to check that you don't inadvertently miss a required team, etc. EHM will crash if certain teams aren't present in the DB.

But I prefer...St Louis Blues. So playing a game in FHM with all teams named the Blues.

So my first update, as I was working on it last night kinda, is a list of the general area all my NHL and AHL teams are going to go, and who's affiliated with who

I tried to give every province at least one team, and I followed a general scheme with all of the divisions, AHL included, by going by region. 4 of the divisions are primarily canadian, and 2 are all american. I tired to work by population, and by keeping things generally even

My totals for Canadian teams are

Bump in the road 0: Too many canadian teams

Option 1: Set Regina/Halifax, other, to United States. Kind of ruins authenticity
Option 2: Move Yukon to Alaska, move Hamilton to Chicago. Kind of works with population, but Canada sad face
Option 3: Force players to set Canada as Enhanced
Option 4: Wait for fix? Who knows if it will work, if at all

Option 4. obviously got it working

recently learned that there is no Relegation in the English leagues. Disapointing, was hoping to inccorperate the Swinden Town Swoodilypoopers of John Green game, so you could take them from top to bottom, like soccer

No problem with AHL teams, all were put in correctly

Im currently simming my 3 season with NHL and AHL enhanced, debating what to work on now

I managed to give every state and province a team in the 5 north america leagues other than hawaii, but do have another 12 teams left in the UHL/CHL, so I might give Hawaii a UHL or CHL team, and otherwise give teams to markets that are currently underutilized like california

im in 2022 of a 60 player database, all of them with definded preferences. (ignoring random spawns) Of all of the players in the 2022 game, and the only players without "None" (according to the scout tool) are the players originally in the game at the start

Error with the ECHL, No players on their team, even with correct ECHL teams, assuming its because there isnt enough players

confirmed: Each ECHL must have at least 1 player (worst case ive found)

FYI - the 1974 db has worked OK (for PC users) with 0 ECHL players/staff at start-up (a couple Mac users reported crashes if they clicked on ECHL related links)

Thats strange

I guess mine just must be special case because of the work im doing, or something

either way, it works now so far, with just NHL and ECHL selected

Whenever I test I always do so with all Leagues set to Enhanced

I try to test all the scenarios I can, I wouldnt have discovered the NHL canadian team problem, and that would have hurt the players that play only NHL, as it worked with NHL and Canada selected. This did too, so yeah. I mean this wouldnt happen if the database had players in it, so its just me right now :B you're fine

All north american playable leagues are set up, other than the secondary affiliations. I just need to do that and add players and its playable

This project sounds cool! Later on, you'll need team logos/colours.

Let's say this is a NHL team, I can do a AHL team for them too with same logo just a different letter (that just takes couple of seconds)

Well all my Team names are already set, as seen in my tumblr post, so I suggest taking a look at them and seeing what you can do. If you want to lay down some suggestions for Canadian Juniors you can, I can throw the Knights in there somewhere

Ill post the ECHL and U/CHL teams I have too if you wanna take a crack at some of their logos since I didnt do them in NHL 13. (Parent teams in brackets, * donates matching design scheme IE same logo/colours, & means similar design)
