Getting widdled off though because I don't know how to give contracts to excisting players on my team
Seems it doesn't work for the UK leagues (but it does for the NHL). The way to renew contracts is to view the Player Profile screen and click on the Actions button at the bottom left of the screen and then click on Offer New Contract. Not sure why that option isn't there for the UK - I'll ask the devs.

I think I know the cause. I can't directly edit the particular setting at the moment as Jeff has restricted what we can edit whilst he makes some changes. I'll ask Jeff if he can change the setting for me.

Hi Guys, new to the forum, but have played EHM for a while, and have now purchased FHM... I have started a game in the Elite League in Britain and noticed most of the players heights are 14,2! Wasnt sure where to post this! Have also noticed a lack of Head Coaches on the game, is this on purpose?

Yep..that will get corrected soon ...I think next build is what they said on the FHM bug forum. height apparently does not play a role in how the players perform though. So just use the Belfast Giants.

Press 'Reset Contract' or something like that, and it drops to a 1 year deal..

That doesn't seem too bad standings-wise. How are you finding the EIHL realism-wise (low scoring aside).
With the exception of the 'Juniors' thing, I'm finding it OK, although, a there does seem to be an initial shortage of English/Scottish/Welsh players who are willing to join the EIHL teams, and other GM/HC are getting far too many imports in..

I noticed that too that there doesn't seem to be an import limit

Glad to hear it.
The juniors thing should be fixed with next Wednesday's DB update (and I hope to have all contract lengths set by then too). Perhaps once this is fixed, more British players will be willing to join.
I haven't had a chance to check yet (I have been studying for exams the past month and so I've been concentrating on DB work rather than beta testing), but isn't the foreigner limit rule working? There should be a limit of 11 for the EIHL. I haven't set a foreigner rule for the number dressed (because there isn't a separate rule AFAIK in the EIHL) but the actual rosters should be set to a maximum of 11.

IIRC, there are 2 EIHL sides running 12 imports, but dressing 11 (Belfast and Nottingham, and I think Sheffield may too), so its a limit on 11 'Dressed'.

I just counted the Giants' roster and in fact they have 14... I was always of the understanding that the limit related to roster size rather than dressed numbers.

I'll update the league rules when I can (we're not currently allowed to touch these settings).

Just realised that Rod Sarich has dual nationality so I was only running with 11 in my first season
But in real life I think you can have more than 11 imports at the club but can only dress 11

Hi Guys, Anyone know why if i sign players for the Steelers, the AI coach doesnt recognise them when setting lines? i am at the 11 import limit having released a few, so was wondering if there was a reason AI only uses original players in lines, i havent noticed this bug in any other leagues ive played, i.e NHL

Hi Archi,
I have Just noticed that the Elite League Playoffs quarter finals are in 3 Game format, rather than
2 legs for quarters, then 1 leg semi and final!
Cheers

Thanks.

Checking the playoff format is something on my list to check. I need to check whether the updated playoff format is being used in game. Way back when we were first researching playoff structures the EIHL had just released details of the new conference system. After they announced that, I think there was a change of plans (or misinformation) regarding the playoff structure. When I last checked, the correct structure hadn't been implemented (but I haven't checked since November IIRC because research has been taking up 99% of my EHM time).
I'll look into this (we also need to get the EPL playoffs implemented too).

Is this still a problem following yesterday's DB update?

No, the AI seems to be seeing all players on the roster now, thanks Archi

One thing I have noticed about this build, if I send a player down I have to make a transfer offer to get him back instead of just being able to send him back to my team

I'll check this out.
Just to let you know, I've checked out the EIHL playoffs. I see what you mean about the best of 3 series. I also found a bunch of other mistakes. I've posted below a copy of what I've posted on the OOTP Forums:
Just for clarity and to avoid any further reports: I've reported the incorrect format for the quarter finals of the EIHL playoffs (in game it is currently a best of 3 series). Having taken a closer look, I've found quite a number of issues:
1) Qualification is incorrect (it should be the top 8 of the overall league standings).
2) Quarter final seedings are incorrect.
3) Quarter final format is incorrect (it should be a 2 game series with the scores aggregated. Also, the games should take place on the Sat and Sun after the end of the regular season).
4) Semi final seedings are incorrect.
5) The semis and final are taking place on the wrong dates (they should be on the Sat and Sun after the quarters).
6) The match reports for the semis and final note the Location as being the city of the "home" team. This should be listed as Nottingham because the games take place at the NIC.
Three notes about the EIHL standings and playoffs:
A) I haven't explained the full playoff structure to the devs because I think it is far too ambitious to expect it to be implemented into the game (I have quoted the full rules below). My recommendation is a little simpler in that we just take the top 8 from the league standings. I think this is close enough for the time being.
The Rapid Solicitors Elite League champions will be seeded number one for the play-offs, while the second seed will be the winner of the Conference that does not produce the league winner.
The remaining six play-off spots will be taken in order from the final Elite League table.
In the unlikely event of the league title winner not winning their Conference, the order will be as follows.
The number one seed will still be the Elite League winners with the two Conference winners taking seeds two and three (higher rank determined by their league position).
Seeds four to eight will then be determined by the Elite League table.
B) The conference standings in game are incorrect, but I can't imagine the devs having the time to spare on something that is probably unique to the EIHL. You will see in game that the conference standings are based on the full 52 games whereas in real life they're based solely on the intra-conference games. So I haven't logged this as a suggestion (I will when I find a spare 5 minutes - but as the lowest priority).
C) I have mentioned to the devs that there is now a 3rd/4th place playoff on the same day as the playoff final. I can't imagine this being something added to the game any time soon. As with (B) above, this is something unique to the EIHL. On a personal note, I'm really glad the league has added this game to the schedule. Although the teams have nothing to play for, it is really difficult to find something to kill time in Nottingham until the evening final game (there's little to do in Nottingham on a Sunday)!!!
===============================================================================
One final thing: I've reported the fact that the EPIHL doesn't have any playoffs in game. I thought perhaps this had been because I hadn't posted details of the structure for the devs. However on checking, I can see I did this last year. So I've reported it as a bug.

Ah I'd already reported it to the devs as a similar-ish issue came up elsewhere. What exactly was going wrong?

I thought I could do from clicking the action button whilst viewing the players profile but instead you have to right click on the player whilst looking at the roster

Hi there! I recently purchased this game, been looking at it for ages wondering whether to or not. Started off as the invicta dynamos. I am really enjoying it however there is one major problem. I can sign any free agent I want to e.g. Rob farmer and in my second season I've signed brooks orpik. I don't think the dynamos are quite at the standard of signing these players. Also other teams in the league are signing NHL standard players, makes it a bit unrealistic.
