EHM The Blue Line

This is a random name generator to help users create fictional rosters for Eastside Hockey Manager. The generator loads the player names from the EHM database and generates random names for any chosen nationality. The database stores seedings for each name depending on how frequently the name is used - the generator uses these seedings when generating the names so that a realistic spread is created.

To install the tool, place the EHM Random Name Generator.exe file in the same folder as your chosen EHM database. Double-click on the exe to load the generator (if using Windows Vista, 7 or 8, you must use the Run as Admin option if your database is located in the Program Files set of folders).

Upon loading, the generator will show a list of nationalities with corresponding ID numbers. Enter the appropriate ID number for the nationality of names you wish to create. You will then be asked how many names you want to create.

The generated names are saved to a csv file which can be opened in software such as Excel or OpenOffice (or even just Notepad). To help you generate spreadsheets for a number of different nationalities, the files are named using the three letter abbreviation for the nationality (e.g. if you generate names for the United States, the will be saved to names_USA.csv).
