My question is i know the game is hard coded for 27 ahl teams and such so i put 3 of the ahl in the echl... my question is if say for example i have Colorado then their farm team in Lake Erie in echl and then if they have a echl team as well can they send players from 1 echl team to another or would the game crash?

No, it should work. You can have 2 AHL teams too, and the game doesnt care

The problem no one seems to care about is that the ECHL has rostor limits of 20

being hard core realistic, and moving the worse 3 teams down to the ECHL means 3 NHL teams really lose their development systems. They can only have 20 prospects, and 20 prospects only, and thats the BEST case scenario if the team doesnt have a 2nd affiliate, like New Jersey.

Same with the CHL

move the worst team down, all of a sudden Tyler Bensen is signable by anyone, cause the Giants are no longer in the WHL

23 guys in NHL and 20 in ECHL = 43
That means they can have seven less contracts than anyone else. Those seven guys won't make it to the NHL anyway. Plus, you have the option to loan them to another club.

What is worse this also makes the ECHL really hard to play in as three teams are loaded quality guys

The WHL thing is a bigger problem, I agree. Unfortunately there is no good solution.

You can't ever possibly assign 20 guys to the ECHL though. If you are fortunate you can maybe get 4 or 5.

If you control them (human GM), you can
