App - hockey simulator?

I've been wondering this for a while, but is there a specific reason there are no apps for hockey simulators? Soccer has Football Manager, and even Pocket League Story, but no one has made a hockey version, or even a dumbed down one.
Wish I knew more coding than web/php, and had the time and resources to do it, but I feel like there's a good market out there for a portable hockey simulator.
Anyone have any insights?

Unfortunately, hockey games are always lacking.
With that being said, OOTP has an iOS version of OOTP Baseball (in fact, it's developed by Sebastian, the head developer of FHM), so I guess there's a possibility that they'd do the same with FHM. Keep in mind, however, that this would be a thought for the very distant future. FHM, in my opinion, is much too young and incomplete to begin thinking about porting it.
It would be cool, though.

If I could play a hockey management sim on my phone, I'd never get anything done. I'd be on it non-stop.

So true!! Its bad enough that I have EHM on my laptop and can bring that with me where ever I go. If it was on my phone there would be no hope of me ever finishing my thesis.

I’m very curious in what the steps are in creating a game of this calibre (sports simulation games). I actually did try creating a mobile simulation app months ago, but gave up and lost interest.
The easy parts, setting up an interface, rosters, teams, personnel etc., simulation engine (not visual, maybe text)
The hard parts, figuring out AI, trading, coding language for the project etc.
My experience is only limited to PHP/JAVA and HTML5/web based coding, wouldn’t even know where to begin for a game of this calibre, but it would be fun as a side project, even to just have something small that you create a team, pick lines and simulate games and then start to add features from there.
Anyone have a run down of the psuedo code needed to set up trading, AI etc.? Very curious, even just for reading.
Edit: Very aware of licensing, do not plan to use real names/logo's anything.

Did the research on my end, going to try this out as a side project, wonder how long I'll last.
Have some good ideas, nothing ambitious to start (problem most people have, too many features, basic things don't work). Essentially, going to dumb down EHM to the lowest possible level, and go from there.

There's an app on Android called Dynasty Hockey, which uses real player names and team names. I thought that was illegal? How are they able to do that?

It's not illegal per se. But it's certainly risky because the trademark holders of the teams and leagues could sue them for breach of trademark.

Yes, you're supposed to have an NHL/NHLPA license in order to do that, but if anyone has a problem with it (didn't seem to be an issue for freeware EHM), it'll be their lawyers, not the cops.

Hello there,
I know it's an old thread but I thought some of you might be interested. I'm currently building a game (a mix between fantasy hockey and hockey simulator). It will be available for iOS, Android and Windows Phone. Here's a video where I show the game side-by-side on the three platforms:

In any case if you are interested this is the website:
http://hockeysimulator.com. I would greatly appreciate any feedback and if you want to be notify when the game is release you can subscribe to the newsletter.
