Salaries seemingly random

So I've been spending the last couple days editing a database. I have everything done except for moving players around. Basically what I've done is moved all the Canadian teams to the Czech league, so that the NHL is only American and the Extraliga is only Canadian. Everything went well except that now the salaries are messed up, and the worst part of it is that it seems completely random.

Sidney Crosby is supposed to be getting paid 5.7M for the rest of his actual, real life contract term, yet I've started up the game 5 times and he's been getting paid anywhere for 32,000 to 55,000. I thought maybe the Czech currency is messing it up, so I did the math and had him getting paid 114,376,305 Korunas, but.... that didn't work either.

Jared Cowen is getting paid (in the pregame editor 925,000) but when I boot up the game he's getting paid 1,099,000.

I thought maybe the lower the salary the higher the in-game salary, but nope, Mike Lundin is making the least on the Senators at 107,000 and Spezza is getting paid 961,000.

I just don't get it.

The non-NHL leagues are hardcoded with expected salary ranges. If a player on NHL contract is moved to the Extraliga, at game start-up it will generate a new salary for him that is in line with the rest of that league.

I see... that'll explain it.

Why must everything be hardcoded in this game...
