I suspect any instruction indicating a 2012 start is a typo...I'm not aware of a 2013 start being a problemEpic wrote: As I understand it's not possible to start with season 13/14.
Oops! Yes, that's a typo. I'll try to take a look this evening at correcting this.nino33 wrote:leafsnation wrote:The instruction say to set the year as 2012 when using the CSD rosters, however, after starting, the 2012/13 stats are already loaded in the game. My understanding is doing it the way you suggest results in overrated veterans (because their correct/lower CA will sometimes be significantly increased because of the high PA) + it quickly results in a database with to many superstars (i.e. the excessive scoring problem gets worse)jhcjobpb wrote:All senior players should have their PA fixed! How good they were when they were at their best, that's what their PA should be. So when they regen they should live up to their stardom. Like Gonchar who was a great offensive d-man now has a PA of 125.

Are you guys meaning "attributes" when you write "stats"?jhcjobpb wrote:Have there been many different people updating the stats of the NHL players?
I'm not sure how recently the LNAH was reviewed/updated (I noticed Thériault didn't play hockey in 2012-13)kebabseller wrote:This is not major mistake, but you have missed Jöel Thériault or it might be because he plays in minor league.

I'm talking mostly about attributes, but also the fact that for example McDonagh is said to be worse then both Staal and Girardi in the Team Report which is based off CA?nino33 wrote: Are you guys meaning "attributes" when you write "stats"?
I have the same problemI cant edit the database in pre-game editor.... Why?

I have released the database without fixing this because I didn't want to delay the release (I won't be able to look at diagnosing and fixing the issue until early January). In late December or early January I will look at diagnosing and fixing the issue so that it is fixed for v6.1.
IMO, to get an accurate DB as possible you'd need 3 different kinds of star players "rookies = maybe MacKinnon, who knows", "prime = Getzlaf, Datsyuk" "veteran Jagr". Yrs of 20, 30 and 40. They need to have a constant "great player" in their years. If not there will be a big "gap" in stardom.nino33 wrote:My understanding is doing it the way you suggest results in overrated veterans (because their correct/lower CA will sometimes be significantly increased because of the high PA) + it quickly results in a database with to many superstars (i.e. the excessive scoring problem gets worse)?
I've never tested players over age 40, but in general "yes" a higher PA will result in an increase in CA regardless of age (given Selänne's starting CA is already 175 he wouldn't necessarily get "a lot" better, but Jagr's 155 starting CA means he might).jhcjobpb wrote:So you mean that Jagr & Selänne with a PA of 180+ will be a lot better?
Unfortunately it doesn't seem to...what EHM07 does seem to do is develop young players very quickly compared to real life (and "late bloomers" don't really occur)jhcjobpb wrote:Doesn't the game look at players ages and stop "evolving" them?
