hey guys,

i noticed some of the authors have their home page links missing.
In particular minstrel, twolf, jeff riddolls and jim harnock

also why did neil request his utilities to be removed?

I still need to fiddle about with the new downloads centre so that it contains all of the relevant information (such as homepage/e-mail address). The problem is finding enough time to go through it all due to my law degree. I also need to find time to add the twenty or so cool pics that have been mailed to me!

With regards to the editors, Neil wasn't happy that I hadn't asked permission before I put them on my site (which I guess is fair enough).

Well it depends what you mean by "own".
The whole subject regarding certain addons for games is very dodgy. People who create facepacks, background packs, titlebars, etc. most probably don't have permission to do so and so how can you claim that you "own" that facepack, etc.
Tbh, many, many people have created addons for different games using other people's materials (look at the number of backgrounds you can get from CmSkins).

Of course, if anyone said "this is my material and I want it removed" then I would immediately.

The whole issue is very confusing. :?

Rabi.
Two reasons:

1) Permission was not asked

but more importantly imho:

2) Its still in the beta stage and way too many sites are already hosting it (all non-english) - its a pain to inform everyone that i've released a new version. Once the editor is stable i will have no objections to anyone hosting it.

Sorry if you feel i am being picky but that is what i have decided.

By all means if there is anything of yours on my server that permission wasn't given for (or you would like to revoke) then please e-mail me & it will be removed.

No problem really, you're right.
We put it to be complete, not to steal it from you...

Also, about the homepages, I can add this field but it will take time to change the info of each download.

Tbh, I don't mind if people host the same files as us (although ask permission for official TBL files). The only think I object to is file leeching.

Keep up the good work with the editor, Neil. I really appreciate the effort you're putting into it.

There's a couple of extra fields I'd like to add to that.

ah ok neil thats a good idea. so if i posted that an editor was available and pointed it off to your home page that would be ok ?

also if you guys are running short on the bandwidth front then i've got that nhlehm.co.uk server that has a huge bandwith limit so you can dump those files there if you want :?:
