EHM The Blue Line

Hey guys, was really happy to learn about the return of this great game. One of my all time favorites, even tho i'm not a huge hockey fan.

Anyway, i have a question: Does anyone know how to change the background in the game? I'm trying to place a solid dark background on all screens because it makes it easier for me to read the foreground game info.

You can add backgrounds for specific players, teams and leagues, but not the default background. However, I recall Riz mentioning yesterday somewhere that he was going to look into adding an option to disable the background image.

That would be great. I like the look of the background image, but I find it too busy and distracting.

You can in a matter of fact change the default background image and you can insert a picture on yourself as the GM as well in EHM2007. I don't know if it works for EHM: Early Acces though

For your own GM picture; Just create a folder named "users" in the pictures folder, and just name the picture your name ex. Armin_van Buuren. This goes for EHM2007. In EHM: EA you can add birthdate for your GM as well so maybe you need to add the birthday in this game for it to works.

In EHM2007 it looks like this;


For the default background image in ehm2007 you just put a image 1024x768pix (every background needs to be this size even in EHM: EA) in the data folder named "default" to change the default background

It looks like this:


As you can see we have also changed the office background for the GM screen. To do that you need to put a background picture also in the data folder simply named "office"

Yeah, I've changed mine in 2007, but I didn't see a way to do in in EA as Archi clarified. Hope they add this ability in.

Oh, I'll see. I really hope they update that.

Unlike EHM 2007, the background in EA is hardcoded (presumably into the exe file). So this is why, as I understand it, the default background cannot be changed for this version.

What do know of the backgrounds for different screens at this point?
I mean i know for a fact that we can not change the deafault bakcground but we can have a different background for each player in their background screen (am i right?).
And different teams can have different backgrounds, right?

But what else?
Can different leagues have different backgrounds?
Can the players of a specific team all have the same background that would be different from the one that is shown on the team roster screen?

You can do all that. I think it is just the default background that can't be changed in EHM: EA, that could be changed in EHM2007

Just assign the backgrounds you want in the data/pictures/backgrounds folder. You can change the following:

* Players
* Non-Players
* Clubs
* Leagues

But where do i put a team specific background that i want to see on the player information screen?
I mean can i have a different background for a clubs players than for said clubs roster screen?

Say for example i would like to have the background for the Ottawa Senators roster screen to be a picture of the CTC.
But for the Senators players i would have a different background, one that would show a different picture.
One picture for all the players of the same team.

I'm sorry if i'm not making very good sense, but i'm just about at my technical terms limit here.

If you want a background for Bobby Ryan you have to make a different one for him, and ALL the other players. That's a lot of work, so I wouldn't even bother with that.

See i was thinking that if i would have been able to create a background image for players of a certain team i could create a picture pack that would resemble a hockey card and incorporate the background by creating transprent areas in the player picture that would correlate with areas in the background picture. For example a panel on the side of the picture that would show a stylized team logo that's actually in the background picture (Like this http://thumbs.ebaystatic.com/d/l225/m/m ... tpl7WA.jpg but with a team logo instead of a colored picture of the player).

I was already getting pretty excited about my idea, but now i'm just as glad that i won't be spending my nights working on player pictures.
