Flexibility of EHM:EA

It's been 4 years since I last posted on this board, so If I put my question in the wrong place please forgive me.

I have a long-running 22 team fictional league that I have been running with various programs over the years (my own, Faceoff Hockey, STHS, FHM). I tried several years ago to "import" it into EHM but had way too many crashes. Part of the problem was that I wanted to replace the NHL/AHL with my fictional league that had less teams than the leagues I wanted to replace. I was wondering if the new version of EHM has any more flexibility in this area.

Another issue I faced with my last 2 seasons (played with FHM) was the inability to export stats via html, csv, or txt files. If I recall correctly, the old EHM didn't have this feature either. How about now?

Is there any kind of expansion option with EHM? I would like to eventually expand my league to a 24-team league.

Even if I can do none of the things I want to do with the new EHM, I am really happy that there is another hockey sim out there!!!

Welcome back! :)

The answer is yes and no. Yes, the game has a lot more flexibility. But no because we do not have an editor right now. A lot of things like league structures and rules are now set in the database - as I understand it, this leaves open the potential to alter a league's structure like you'd want. However, until we have an editor we cannot edit these new things. I want to write my own editor (well, port my EHM 2007 editor over to EHM:EA) but unless SI release the database structure I'm unable to do so. I hope one day they might, but I'm thinking there's no point right now as the DB structure is likely be rather fluid during the Early Access period at least.

In the mean time, we're using EHM 2007 editing tools to edit an EHM 2007 database which we then import into EHM:EA using the game's Import function. On the plus side, it is possible to rename all of the teams and leagues now (e.g. you can rename the NHL to something else).

I'm trying to figure out where/how to do this in EHM:FA. Can't find it anywhere - help!
Do you have to do it before you create a save file?

You cannot edit saved games. Edited databases do not affect saved games. You have to start a new game using your edited database.

You have to edit the EHM 2007 format database using the EHM 2007 editors. Then import the database into EHM:EA using the Import function: http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/wiki/inde ... nto_EHM:EA
