Hello everyone. I am a fairly new hockey fan and I am trying to learn the game. I thought EHM looked like fun so I am giving the demo a try. I am using the KG rosters, but my problem is that I can’t seem to advance the calendar. I am stuck on the first day. I have set my roster, lines, tactics etc, but I can’t move forward. I tried the continue “buttonâ€

I'm not sure what the KG rosters are but I would have a guess that they may be causing the problems. I would suggest uninstalling everything and reinstalling the demo only. If that doesn't work then report the problem to SI.

Thanks for the reply. The KG rosters are supposed to be the most up to date, July 2006 I believe. I'll try re-installing as you suggest and see what happens. So the continue "button" IS how to advance to the next day?

Yeah the continue is how to advance. Only other way to advance (other than the space bar which does the same as the continue button) is to go on vacation from the manager options screen.

It may be that the demo is not compatible with updated rosters, although I would have thought it should be ok.

What are the KG Rosters? Where did you get them from? If I remember correctly, the EHM demo uses fast-starts so roster updates won't do anything for you (although maybe it's different for the Try & Buy demo).

I'd follow Hluraven's advice.

I take it that the continue button you're clicking on is this one:

I'm going to change the title of your thread so that people know what it's about.

Edit: Sorry, it appears more replies had been made whilst writing this reply

I got the KG rosters from a link in this forum. A few topics down labeled "Updated Rosters". They do seem to be up to date. I figured it would be more fun to use. This game seems really complicated, but I am trying to like it. I am new to hockey and I'm feeling a little overwhelmed.

Thanks for all the feedback.

You definitely cannot use that with the demo, as that is a save game rather than a database. As the demo lasts until halfway through the first season, and the save is from after one whole season the game cannot continue.

There's your problem, you need to start a new game with the demo rather than loading a save game.

Thanks, that explains it. I'll just have to pry Federov from the Ducks just like the Jackets did.

Thanks again.

The EHM 2005 Guide might be of some use if you're still trying to figure out the game: http://archibalduk.ehmtheblueline.com/site/index.php
