Hi,

I would like to know if it is possible to train a player to a new position (for example from center to left wing.)
I didn't find how to in the practice section, so do we have to play the player at the position we want him to?
Or is it just not a option to learn a new position to them?

It is there, in the Practice section. A bit hard to find, but there it is.

Click on the Schedule button inside the Practice screen, and pick the one you want to swap and replace for. Like "Unused" for example. You can then rename it (like "RW") and then on the New Position space pick the position you want to train your player. Then go back to the Overview screen and assign your player with the training regime you've just created for RW -- or any other position you may want.

Yes, playing that position also helps. You should also make sure the player has at least some understanding of how to play that position. See the Positions tab on the player profile screen.

I'm curious if anyone has had success with this? It's a feature I tend to ignore as I believe the highest they get is 'accomplished' anyway so you're usually better off finding a natural for that position?

Yes. But only if they have something written in that position. If it is blank, won't happen. And you have to play him in that position for games as well or it does not work.

I have not done it for some time, but my first game in EA I trained Coturier up to accomplished on right wing.

In EHM 2007 I never tried it myself because I got the impression 'twas not worth the effort. Has this changed in EHM: EA?

It works, but I never do it. I just play competent players on off side once in awhile. I Tried it just to see if it would work...not to use it.

I switch guys around, and there are plenty of players who have multiple positions in the game, so it does not need to be done IMHO

Works like a charm. I put Letang on LD training because I want him LD in the PP. After one season he's usually confident playing it.
