www.eliteleague.co.uk Forums for this information.
A number of QMJHL teams are offering free streams of their games during the upcoming season. Here's some links:
Halifax Mooseheads
Cape Breton Screaming Eagles
Moncton Wildcats - Apparently there should be a 'Webcast' button available when the season starts.
Saint John Sea Dogs - Click on the 'Webcast' button during game night.
There may be other teams providing live streams too. Your best bet is to go to the team's web site during a regular season game.
QMJHL fixtures can be found
here. Moncton play at home against Acadie-Bathurst tomorrow (14th Sept). I think Quebec uses Eastern Standard Time so that means faceoff is at 19:00 EST which is midnight UK time.
Weekend games usually faceoff at 16:00 EST so that's 21:00 UK time - that's a much more sociable hour for watching hockey!

Thats great news!!!
I really would like to see CHL hockey to follow some of the future stars of the NHL!!!
Last year I was so lucky to see some games of the Memorial Cup and some games of the AHL, but watching games from the QMJHL is really great!!!
Thanks for the news Archie, I usually surf through the CHL pages, but I didnt realize the livestreams!!!
Again, great news!!!

Here's two games that should hopefully be free to watch live this weekend:
Sunday
Lewiston @ Moncton 16:00 EST (21:00 UK Time) - Click on the 'Watch Live' button located on the left of the screen.
PEI @ St. John Sea Dogs 16:00 EST (21:00 UK Time)
It seems that the Eastern Division of the QMJHL have all signed up Alliant as sponsors. Alliant are the group that are providing free live streams of the games so it's best to keep an eye out on the pages of the Eastern Division teams:
- Acadie-Bathurst
- Cape Breton
- Halifax
- Lewiston
- P.E.I.
- Moncton
- St. John's
- Saint John

The Moncton webcast doesn't appear to be up yet but the
St. John link is working fine. The quality isn't fantastic but it's watchable and there's not jumpyness.

I might have been an hour out with those UK times. I think face off was at 8pm and not 9pm as I originally thought. Currently 4-1 to PEI halfway into the second period.

darn

The Sea Dogs deserved the win! They played a wonderfull 3rd period and loose on the shootouts
However,their 3rd goal was hilarous

I think i should stopped it!
Great great time for me to be able to watch a hockey game...as there's no hockey on frecnh TV,it's the first full i've seen since the Olympics
Webcast power!

That was an awesome game! 4-1 after the second and the See Dogs managed to score 4 (but also conceed 1) on the third period. Shame they lost on the shoot-out. I'll definately be watching more of the QMJHL over the net.
I was impressed with the quality too (I had it full screen on my laptop and then just sat about two metres away on my bed) - it was perfectly watchable

Is it for today?

Yes it's today. I think it will be either 23h or 00h UK time. I'm not entirely sure about the time difference

On the Moncton Wildcats site,it says that the game is at 7pm...i guess it's local time...
So it would be around 0h00 or 1H00 uk time...(don't know exactly where is Moncton,so...)

I was wondering why the show doesn't start...
The game is scheduled for the 28 September! not the 27...
It will be P.E.I. Rockckets @ Moncton Wildcats.
Scheduled at 7:00pm (local time). I'll try to find the difference of time between UK and eastcoast of Canada tomorrow (or if anyone already knows...) to give the UK time of the game.

Not sure about Moncton, but a friend of mine (cousin of Sidney Crosby, btw) lives in Halifax and they are 6 hours "behind" us (with "us" I mean Shaddy and me, because u english guys are in a different timezone). That means that in Halifax they are in the Eastern Time zone!!
I know that for sure because I watch the NHL games and I race Nascar online with guys from the States and Canada and at the beginning I missed some races because I always calculated wrong, lol!!!
Greets
EDIT: ah, and btw, the game u are talking about is (I suppose) the PEI @ Moncton game and its tomorrow Thursday (28.09.06) at 7 pm (well, I guess its their local time....dont see a reason why they should put our timezone in their web

)

Thanks Flea for the info

i thought it is 6 hours,but i wasn't sure.
I think there's just 1 hour of difference between France/Spain and England...
So the game should be at
0h00 UK time!
For sure,it will be at 1h00am for those of you who are in the same timezone as Flea and i.
flea wrote:dont see a reason why they should put our timezone in their web
I've send a mail to them asking if they can add at least one european time,to help european hockey fans to follow more easily their games

They didn't answer me yet,and i'm not sure they'll do so,but heh! maybe we'll be lucky on this one!

Oops I got the date wrong - sorry!
QMJHL is obviously based in Quebec. I got the impression Quebec is 5hrs behind UK time (6hrs behind France and Spain) but when I watched the St. John game last Sunday, the game started an hour earlier than I thought, suggesting they're 4hrs behind UK and not 5hrs
Good luck with the e-mail, Shadd

Yeps, I think St. Johns is very East of Canada and they are probalby already in another timezone:
I just found this:
BTW; I think I was wrong....in Nova Scotia, where my friend lives, they have already Atlantic Time Zone, but we usually do everything with Eastern Time, thats why I was misthought!!! Sorry for the wrong infos!!
Yeah Shadd, good luck with your email....keep us informed, buddy!!!

I don't expect anything from this, but well...it doesn't cost anything to give it a try!
I'll try to have a more precise information for the game time... i'll keep you informed if i find something

Now it's sure! There's a difference of 4 hours between Moncton and UK!
So,as the game starts at 19h00,Moncton's time, it will be at
23h00 UK time.
So it will be at midnight for Flea and i (and maybe other guys

)
For other times, here's a link to Time Zone Converter:

I don't get why everyone just can't have the same time. But in the areas it is light say 12:45pm and areas it is dark 12:45am?? Seems easiest to me. Least then you might get a time to suit everyone.

Did you select the right countries? For this one,it has to be "america/moncton" (as tonight's game is in Moncton) on the left and "europe/london" (as you're in England) on the right...
I gave the link mainly for the ones that are from other timezones, like in Sweden,Russia, and so on...
