:-o With Frank Kaberle to miss most of the season due to shoulder surgery Carolina is thin on the blue line and need to make a move. The move won't be bringing in Jack Johnson, their 3rd overall pick in 2005 as he has again chosen to stay at Michigan instead of signing to play with Carolina this year.
"He's in play," a source said. "Carolina isn't going to give him away because he's a blue-chip asset, but if they get the right deal, he's gone."
Wow... that would be wild, but I can see their point too.

The (Vancouver) fans also loudly booed cheered Jack Johnson whenever he touched the puck. In a game Saturday night, Johnson hit Canada's Philadelphia Flyers' prospect Steve Downie with a cheap elbow clean, smoking hard body check.

What? What booing? We love Jack Johnson here in Vancouver! Atta boy Jack. (Quote from unknown Canadian Press author altered slightly for effect.) Hey Mr. Clarke, you bonehead: TAKE NOTE!!!!

:-p

I was reading Spector's page (the best source of hockey trade rumors that I've found yet) this morning and he was saying it's believed that Johnson has stayed in college because he does't want to play in Carolina. He went on to say that with Johnson staying in college for yet another season and him not wanting to play for Carolina, it may weaking the Hurricanes bargaining position.

I have XM satellite and listed to the Hockey Channel all of the time...

They think that the Hurricanes best bet is to trade Johnson to a team that doesn't need him right now and is willing to wait for a blue chip prospect.

Johnson isn't holding out of signing, he just wants to win a National Championship for some reason.

Besides classes have already started at Michigan.

Actually, trade him.... He chose Michigan over a chance at a Stanley Cup.
