Bruins 1974 Attacking Tactic

I am one that loves to dive in and create my tactics from scratch. I am in no means a genius when it comes to this stuff, but I like to get the best out of my teams I play with no matter how good or bad they are. I downloaded the wonderful 1974-75 roster update (Thanks again Nino!), and immediately wanted to take control of the Boston Bruins to see how I can do with them. Going into my 10th season, I wanted to share my attacking tactic with everyone. Can't stress enough how important it is to set up your players personal tactics, along with your PK,PP and even strength tactics if you want to get the best out of your team. Sure I have only won 1 stanley cup along the way (Montreal is crazy good), but I have managed my team to great success every year so far. Below are screens of the tactic itself, along with my GM stats, and download. Of course the tactic is available for all to share, enjoy and have fun with. If anyone else decides to use it, I would be interested in hearing how its working or not working for you.

Fired up the game yesterday, and started a game as the 1992 Pittsburgh Penguins. Loaded up my tactic, and had awesome success right away. Anyone else have any successes or failures? Would love some feedback on this before the new rosters come out!

Hi djsatu,

Your OP stresses the importance of setting personal tactics for all of your players. These are obviously not included in your uploaded tactic. I was wondering what types of instructions you gave your players and what helped you make those decisions!

Cheers

Well as you can see my tactic is an attacking one, so I want my better players to be very offensive depending on there numbers. Guys with high shooting (16+) I set to ''Barrage'' because I want to dominate the offensive end, and get as many scoring chances as I can throughout the games. I like setting all my guys' backchecking to Hard, as my teams should be just as responsible in the defensive end as they are on the offensive. If you have offensive defenseman, I only train them on Offensive Skill, and encourage them to join the rush/carry the puck depending on there numbers. I really wanted to keep Larry Murphy for this reason because Pittsburgh doesn't have attacking options at the back, but he requested a move so I had to trade him for a stay at home defenseman which in the end worked out for me. It all comes down to the players you have on your team and there numbers. If you have 3rd and 4th line attacking players, then you can set there mentality to Offensive as well. If not, hopefully they are crash and bang type players that can play good defensively, and help you win the game relying on the top 2 lines to get all your scoring done. Hope this helps, and I hope you enjoy the tactic
