EHM The Blue Line

Hi, i just started to play EHM, im a ignorant in most of the ice Hockey rules, but reading this forum threads about tactis and others things i managed to have a decent record with the Dallas Stars, now im 13-4-3. But i couldnt figure out how to avoid give to others teams powerplays, i assume that is imposible totaly avoid it, but im giving like 5-8 per game.

Well any advice could be useefull XD thanks in advance.

Setting aggression low is a way to achieve it.

dont be aggressive, fight, or hit people if you want zero penalties

Thz, i used a tactic with lower aggresion in some matches and it was very usefull, i was struggling in defence becouse of that. But i guess that some agression is needed in some kind of matches, there is a guide about that? My lack of knowledge about the game (Ice Hockey) is killing me in game XD

It's almost inevitable you'll concede a couple of penalties per game. As much as you don't want to concede them, you do need some degree of physical play in order to properly defend.

As for guides, check out the EHM 2005 and 2007 guides (start with the 2005 guide first). Although they're written for the older games, the principles are broadly the same:

If you have one or two regular offenders, and it's weakening your overall play, I'd usually set their 'aggression' a notch lower using the Personal instructions, rather than the whole team.

Play a game or two, see if your overall play suffers. I tend to find those with high 'Aggression' stats need to be told to 'calm it down' a bit to avoid too much time in the box.

Hopefully you'll find the rest of your line pick up the slack, and with luck your aggressive player will still make his share of hits, just pick and choose them better and not give the silly penalties away.

Well i managed to lower the penalty time, and matches went much better. But sometimes i fell like my team is "ligth", i ahve a long way to polish tactics. But i made a step foward. Btw in guides i didnt found a way to develope young players, there is a way to develope them my self or i have to depend on my AHL and ECHL team? that teams are independent so i cant touch training or coaches (i guess)

The farm teams are independent, with their own coaches and other staff, but if you're up for it, you may create another GM and take over your farm team(s) at the same time with your NHL team.

I see, i think im not that good atm. But will be a serius problem soon, i dont know if my young players are bad, but they dont has better stats that 1 year and a half ago, almost the same.
