Increased merch sales from signing players.

This one is for somebody in the know, or many Riz if you stop by...
If I send a scout to say China or India and manage to find a prospect and sign them, will that increase my merch sales because of his popularity in such places? Basically like on FM if you sign somebody from a high population nation. Just curious!
