Potentially stupid question -- How do Physios help?

I know Physios help by reducing the number of injuries/length injuries take to heal, but beyond that... what is the exact point? I know also that getting reports when a player is injured is helpful to pinpoint more about their recovery times, as well. But some of my Physios have recommended players getting surgery that would put them out of action for 3 months or various things, yet is there any way to 'force' a player to do that?
I read in older games it looks like you were able to. Haven't figured it out in this one yet.
Thanks in advance!

As far as I know, when the physio recommends surgery all you have to do is look on the list of actions in the player chart, and you will see a new line....send for surgery or send to rehab....and when you click that new line...the player always goes.

I feel like (don't have saves handy) I've seen a couple of times when it was EA, that option wasn't there after recommending surgery.

I have not seen it that way. Doesn't mean it wasn't somewhere....

One of my physios recommended back surgery that would put him out for a while but would improve his quality of life or whatever--but I couldn't find an option in the actions menu. I don't want to say I hope one of my other players gets hurt so I can try it, but... Right now I have no one with long term concerns (yet).

Was your guy out with a back injury or another type? If out with sore ankle, and physio knows has possible back issues...will tell you...but until has back injury cannot send for rehab. The injury must be to the part that the issue resides in to send for rehab/surgery

I forget exactly. I might be able to go back to the save. I want to say it was Simon Gagne they recommended getting surgery for... because of concussion issues or something. Not sure how surgery would fix that, but I feel like that was maybe the reason.

What is this about selecting rehab or going for surgery?! I've never seen such a thing before!

I SWEAR I saw surgery recommended, but looks like Gagne's physio suggestion is just "welp, nothing we can do" instead. I signed a bunch of extremely beat up guys (one had a SKULL FRACTURE) to see what Physios recommended... all of them said "No long term injury concerns. Out for three months with fractured skull." Another was a spinal injury.
I just... a skull fracture miiiight be a long term injury concern.

I believe the "long term injury concern" is more related to whether or not it's a re-occuring injury. A scull fracture may be "long term", as in taking a long time to heal from, but not long term as in it will effect the player after he's been rehabilitated. Meaning whether it is likely to happen again. Sure, it could've been worded differently by SI, but...
Well, at least that's how I always perceived it.

Yeah in the old games it looks like they were able to send to rehab, but haven't seen any posts since then of EHM1.

I feel like VERY early in EA I had a weird sequence (really wish I had logged these things)-
Some guy was hurt, the trainers said he needed rehab. There was no option to send him, but like a week later it automatically sent him. I haven't had an injury/rehab thing in a while to really look into it, and will keep my eyes open.

I sent two guys to rehab this last challenge and two of my guys got recurring injuries but sadly my physios cant help them and just recommend me to cross my fingers.

One of my prospects potentially suffers from "an arthritis" (I giggle at the phrasing every time). I'm planning on signing him to see if the physios send him to rehab or not, since I believe that's recommended for him. I actually got kind of excited to figure this one out.

I think he needs to catch an injury linked to "an arthritis" before you can send him to rehab. Quite illogical and stupid if you ask me as most players do stuff like that when they are out of the playoff race or during off-season.

Lucic just got sidelined for a week or so with anterior knee pain. It offered me the option to send him to rehab, but the physios said there was nothing that could be done

I never get the option to send on anterior knee pain. In the physio description was there something that suggested he may be prone to another injury? That injury will be the one for physio. But you can only send him there if he gets the exact injury. Except concussion. It doesn't work for that, and nor should it. Nothing works for concussion.

Lucic was described as being susceptible to anterior knee pain in his early report. When he was out for a week or so with anterior knee pain, one of my physios recommended he go to therapy, but when I went to send him, it said nothing could be done. But that option was only there when he got his anterior knee pain injury.
The concussion thing I remembered incorrectly--you're right, nothing could be done (as is in real life).
I'm going to see if my other player falls victim to "an arthritis" and if anything can be done for that. I think physio recommended it would take 3 weeks, I just need to wait for him to get hurt.
