ok so i am interested in playing historical database (2006)
is there a roster update i can use for 06 so i can have the actual players form back then?

it is not working. when i try to load the database i get these errors
Cannot add an extinct club (Winnipeg Jets) into a playable league National Hockey League
Cannot add an extinct club (Utica Blizzard) into a playable league American Hockey League
Cannot find correct teams for ECHL (ECHL North Divsion) to make league playable
Teams count from DB does not match team count in basic rules for Western Hockey League (21 teams found, 22 needed)
Cannot find correct number of teams for Czech National League to make playable
Cannot add an extinct club (jyvaskyia D) into a playable league Finnish First Division
Cannot add an extinct club (Dinamo Riga) into a playable league Russian Elite League
Team Count from DB does not match team count in basic rules for Elite Ice Hockey Legue (13 teams found, 10 needed)
Cannot find teams for Asia League Ice Hockey to make playable
Cannot find teams for Danish Oddset Ligaen to make playable
there were error when trying to create playable leagues, the original database may ne corrupt and could not be imported correctly
anyway to get around these or is there another database / way to import a database to get past these errors?

Did you try to change default rule set and start date to 2006?

i just went to the import database thing and tried to import it. how would i change the start date and rule set?

In database folder you should have import_config file. If you don't have you can create one in notepad. You can copy into your file text which i pasted in this post. This is exact text from my file. It should work

Sorry if this is a little off the subject of starts dates, but I'm currently trying to use the Manimal 4.2b rosters so that I can play the 2011-12 season. However, every time I try to import the database, it says that I can't add extinct teams or that teams cannot be added, and then doesn't let me import it. What can I do to fix this? I just want to play the 2011-12 season. Thanks in advance.

Does your import_config file have 2011 as the Start Date, and 2006 as the Default Rule Set?

I followed those instructions with the cfg file, and successfully imported the database. However, now when I try to creat a new game with said database EHM crashes.

Sorry, not sure why that is
If you have another computer available I suggest trying it
I have three copies of EHM on three different computers in my house...EHM works on my old laptop, and on my computer built from spare parts, but on my wife's computer (best in the house, bought new) EHM stopped working months ago (after working fine on it for a year) - I can get a game started but the moment I try to sim the first day it crashes everytime

Does it give you an error when it crashes? I am currently playing with the 2006 database, so it is possible to get it to work.

No error at all. It imports it fine, but when I start a new game, it crashes right after it finishes the loading bar on "Loading Database". To clarify, I am attempting to use the Manimal 4.2b rosters to start in the 2011-12 season.

I even tried CJ's unfaking database, and no dice. Still crashes. I have even tried reinstalling EHM all together, but nothing.

I really do not know what the problem is. Check if for some reason the folders are set to "read only" in which case it may not have written the database correctly. Also double and triple check the import_config.cfg file. If you are doing it for the UUDB then post how big the resulting database file is so I can compare and let you know if the import seems to have worked ok or not.

Both didn't work again. Still crashed. The resulting database file for the UUDB (CJ's unfaking 2006) is 28,451 KB. Both folders are not set to read only.

So that is slightly different from mine, which is 28,729kb. So there may be something wrong with the import process, but it seems that at least it did import most of it correctly. Can you post what the contents of your import_config.cfg look like? Just copy and paste the whole thing here.
Did you get the game through Steam? May be worthwhile to have Steam verify the integrity of all the game files. Otherwise clean uninstall/reinstall would be the right thing to do, making sure the delete all game folders in Documents and in the install directory in the process.

SUCCESS! That worked! When I imported the database, I verified the integrity of the game cache. After I did that it as all fine. Thank you so much for your help!

I dont think there is a mug facepack for 2006. What I do is use the 2010 and 2011 ones and then add new players from all the more recent packs. This covers most but not all of the players in 2006.
