How to shut up near constant repeat ECHL news items?

On a sim-daily basis, I'm getting spams in my news items of (x) player is set to leave (x) team and put on the block. It's almost ALWAYS the same few players, over and over again, being put on the block. I don't have this issue in the NHL play that I have, and I like reading other little news articles, but it's getting incredibly obnoxious to read these or ones about a random NHL team showing interest in another random team's player--things that have no influence over me.
Is there a way to shut these up? I know you can filter categories, but there are transactions I'm occasionally interested in. I just really couldn't care less that "Unhappy Mazur is being shopped around." just like he was the day before... and the day before that... and last week...
I assume there's no fix other than individually filtering through the categories other than transactions via the drop down menu, unfortunately?
