Trade Deadline Question

I have a question about the trade deadline: I'm on 23 Feb 2015, deadline day. I made an offer on that day and, since it's the deadline, it went through immediately. Unfortunately, since I'm somewhat retarded, I exited the game after that without saving.
Now if I go back to the game, I'm on my last saving point: 23 Feb AM. However, if I now offer this trade nothing happens anymore. All I can do is press "Continue", the game moves forward to 24 Feb, and all I get is a message that the trade was cancelled due to the deadline.
Why does this happen, why doesn't it work anymore when I start the game on deadline day? It's AM, there's enough time to make the deal, why does it only work when I'm in the game and "come from" the previous day?
Have any of you ever had this problem? Is there any way to solve this? Or do you have no idea because am I the only one stupid enough to cause such a problem?
