Possibility to loan NHL players to Europe?

Sorry if this is a stupid question, I tried a forum search and a google search without finding my answer.
If you take over an NHL club and sign a prospect from Europe that's not ready for the big stage yet, is there an option to loan him to his former european club instead of
placing him in the AHL if you think he'll get more minutes there?
I still haven't tried playing anything other than the Swedish hockey league so I would be very grateful for an answer to this
