Following on from our EHM 2005, we're working on re-writing the Guide for EHM 2007. This time around I am writing the Guide with Shadd666
As there's been so much demand for a tactics guide, we've written this first. It's now
available to read here. I will be releasing a PDF version to download on Monday.
Please feel free to make any comments or suggestions about the Guide

05 helped me out a hell of alot with learning about tactics etc. I am sure 07 will do the same.

I glanced over it and it looks good.
I haven't really played the game enough to give any input other then that, but sooner or later I'll try and get a better response.

There's already some work in progress

but you can make your request

It's interesting for us to know what users want at once.

Yes that is needed. Every time i start a new game I'm lost as to when i shod start the pre-season training and for how long i shod keep the pre-season training on for.
I also don't really know what to do if a player is preforming bad in training camp or if he reports out of shape.
When i first start a new game all players seem to have good stamina levels so do i even need a fitness intensive pre-season training the first year?
the Training aspect of this game really needs some explaining.

Of course we'll be covering team practice. As you can see from the EHM 2005 Guide, it was section 9 and so it won't be the next section we release. We're re-writing the guide from the beginning and so there's a couple of sections we need to do before we get to practice.

Trainig should be covered sooner !!!
You can always change some stategy for the playoff, or some line, etc. But, for training, you need to do it weel at the begining of the season so your player become better.
I will sai that, exept choosing your player, the second thing you need to work on is training, because, that affect all your player for all season long and play-off. The rest can be done half season and you will be able to made the playoff. But even if you have a good strategy and good staff, you won't win the cup if your player are not at the best of their potential.

I'll discuss it with Shadd and see if we can push the training section further up our list.

So here we are... We'll first finish the actual section we're working on, especially concerning the choice of the lineup, a very important part, especially the ones that are new to the EHM serie and who don't know that much about hockey.
And then, we will focus on practice
It modifies a bit our plans, but heh! this guide is made to serve the players (you), so we have to deal first with your biggest needs

I have a small comment about the PP-tactics. In real life, when playing the Diamond or the Umbrella it is NOT the pointman who should take the shots but it is the guys on both sides of the point man. Both systems is based on an triangular play with the point as an playmaker with two good shooters at his sides. The goal is to force the goalie moving sideways by passing the puck sideways.

This is a typical umbrella or diamond, though 6 vs 4, using that blue line triangle where the point man is searching for a winger (Selänne) och the one-timer.

quick pp question: can a player play at any position on the pp without it affecting he's play negatively. take kovalchuk. he normaly plays lw, but on the pp he plays left d. can he do that in the game aswell. and wich position is the player infront of the net on the pp.
