Shootouts and OT

I just feel the need to mention that for some reason about 85 percent of my games always end in OT or shootouts. That is absolutely not normal. Perhaps this has been discussed before, I have no idea. If so, please forgive me. Anyone else experiencing a lot of games going to OT or shootouts?

I recall reading that not enough games were being decided in OT, and maybe there being a few to many games ending tied after regulation in general, but nothing near 85% (really? was this the NHL, and over a season 70 games went to OT or shootout?)

I was referring to games played by my team. Not the entire NHL. Dead serious when i say most of games end in OT or shootouts. I cant seem to understand why the numbers are that high and I have not even finished a whole season yet. In the 52 games I have played so far in season 1, 20 have gone to shootouts. Ok, so perhaps 85% was a tad bit high but still. 20 is nearly half the games played by my team and that is not even counting the games that end in OT loss or win. A handful of teams are at anywhere from 13 to 16 games involved in shootouts. That just seems like a lot.

I was referring to just your team too (85% of your season is 70 games)

my understanding is OT results (win or loss) are rare...it was 38% maybe higher :-D

But it seems 38% (and maybe/likely higher) is high, given IRL "between the 2005-06 and 2012-13 NHL seasons, a total of 2,176 out of 9,330 regular season games went to overtime, which is equal to 23.3% of games" http://www.sportingcharts.com/articles/ ... e-nhl.aspx .....I'm not sure what % of NHL games went to extra time these last three regular seasons

Is this a bug then? There is no way for me to adjust anything in the game to reduce these numbers. I have no idea if anyone else is experiencing that amount of games ending in OT (win or loss) or going to shootouts.

I randomly took a quick look at a number of completed NHL seasons from recent Challenge participants (looking at their posted screenshots), and over the 82 game season I'm seeing examples of 13 shootouts, 14 shootouts, 12 shootouts, 11 shootouts during the Bruins Challenge & examples of 22 shootouts, 12 shootouts, 20 shootouts and 18 shootouts during the Rangers Challenge.....they don't seem to be having shootouts occur as frequently as you
