Unusual players on waivers.

So in the year 2027-2028 the Leafs place Maxime Comtois on waivers, last season he reached the 30 goal, 80 point plateaus, and was a consistent 20 goal scorer prior to then (4 out of the previous 6 seasons) and this season he got off to a strong start (holding a top 10 spot in points for the month of the season.)
Exactly why would you place such a player on waivers?! He's also only 28, so it isn't like he's an aging part of the teams core.
*Edit* This isn't the first player like this placed on waivers.

Might not relate to this, but I find some weird bugs will come if you play a game with multiple patches without restarting. The recommendation is that you restart with each patch. I did not, and I had a very messed up game by 2040...

Really, I did not know that, at all. Huh.
What kinda things have you experienced in 2040?

I had teams placing players on waivers en masse, salary cap issues, goalies suddenly playing horribly for a long period... all kinds of stuff. Can't remember it all. I just eventually gave up because of the goalie issue, which made the game unplayable. Restarted with the 1998 database and now my goalies are good again.

Ah yes, players on waivers is a constant issue with me.
