CJ's NHL Player Rankings Vote

I'm editing the NHL for the upcoming TBL Database. I'd like to ask the community for your opinion! :-) It's nice to have you involved for your opinion on different things.

I'll ask each week a couple of player "ranking" questions.

If you don't rank anything please don't comment on other users choices! If you have "voted" then you're free to comment other peoples choices. :-)

This week I'll start with three rankings. You just comment and rank my 3 players of 3 teams I display here who is better!

Copy the following and put the players in your desired order who you think is better player overall in each team, not all 9 in one order!!
*I put the players in alphabetical order so this is not my order! :-D

1) DEFENSEMEN #1

POLL 1 - ANA
1) Cam Fowler
2) Hampus Lindholm
3) Sami Vatanen

POLL 2 - NYI
1) Johnny Boychuk
2) Nick Leddy
3) Travis Hamonic

POLL 3 - NYR
1) Dan Girardi
2) Kevin Klein
3) Marc Staal

POLL 1 - ANA
1) Hampus Lindholm (top-10 D-man in the league imo, easily top-20)
2) Sami Vatanen (Really solid two-way #2-#3)
3) Cam Fowler (Kind of overrated, he's a #3 tops, probably a #4)

POLL 2 - NYI
1) Travis Hamonic (Solid 1st pairing)
2) Nick Leddy (Solid 1st pairing)
3) Johnny Boychuk (Not aging great but still pretty good for the 2nd pairing)

POLL 3 - NYR
1) Kevin Klein (solid 2nd pairing guy)
2) Marc Staal (Had a rough first half last season, bounced back a bit late, likely an OK 3rd pairing guy)
3) Dan Girardi (Has regressed quite badly since 11/12 and is now barely a replacement level D-man, at best he's a low 3rd pairing guy, AT BEST.)

I knew I did not ranked Lindholm high enough ah! I only based my rank on what I've heard from everyone since I never see the Ducks playing.

I think Lindholm is absolutely amazing, i'm very very high on him. He's just close to flawless defensively and so smooth at moving the puck out of his own zone. He also has among the best 'advanced' stats there is, his shot suppression is literally off the charts.

Great minds think alike :) The only close one for me was Hamonic and Leddy, had Hamonic ahead because he's more dynamic to me.

Can only comment on poll 3 following the Rangers:

1) Klein (underrated d-man, solid second-line guy with an offensive up-side)
2) Staal (also probably a second-line talent. Had injury problems which have stunted his value)
3) Girardi (probably should on talent alone be 1st or 2nd in the list...but is probably down here on recent form rather than ability)

Oh you're not familiar with the other teams D-men? You just a Ranger far following them? :-)

UK fan following the Rangers. Naturally know the most about their players, don't follow other teams line-ups as much, just notice the star players when 'we' play them.

POLL 1 - CBJ
1) Seth Jones ------I really like Jones, think he's already a legit top pairing defenseman and still has room to grow. Good production and very good possessionstats.
2) Ryan Murray ----Solid second pairing guy, slightly subpar production but his underlying stats are pretty strong to even it out.
3) Jack Johnson ---Third pairing at best, he's really dropped off hard. His underlying numbers are atrocious, Marc Staal is a decent comparable but Johnson is a bit worse.

POLL 2 - NJ
1) Damon Severson ----I'd say he's a good #3 that's still developing, will likely become a #2. His possessionstats are very solid, as is his play on the PP, 5v5 production is OK.
2) Ben Lovejoy ---------A solid second pair guy, his offensive output 5v5 is much better then you would think just watching him play. Closer to a #4 then a #3.
3) John Moore ----------Had a bit of a down year last season stats wise, before that he was a good #4, now i would say a #5.

POLL 3 - DET
1) Mike Green ------------A good #2, elite puckmover and elite on the PP. Very good underlying numbers aswell.
2) Danny DeKeyser ------I'd say he's a 2nd-3rd pairing tweener, his production is decent but his possessionstats are really bad, a #4/#5.
3) Niklas Kronwall -------Regressing pretty hard now, at this point he's a 3rd pairing guy who is decent on the PP, been a pretty quick decline.

I'm not sure at all on the Devils.

Johnson is very overrated I think. I was tempted to even then put him ahead of Murray, because I haven't seen enough improvement yet out of Murray TBH. However, Johnson sometimes does some truly boneheaded things he should know better than to do by now.

DeKeyser is DET's #1 d-man, it's not even a discussion. Kronwall is at this stage of his career nothing more than a 3rd pairing guy, if even that, because he simply can't skate anymore to the point of being a bug liability. Smith and Marchenko are ahead of Kronwall too now, for sure. Green is underrated right now and I'd easily consider him DET's #2 d-man, and TBH if DET would utilize Green on the PP he might have a case to be considered DET's #1 even.
