I red somewhere that the player have to accept or decline a qualifying offer before july 1st to be counted has a RFA and then keeping rights on the player. I mean, if his decision isnt taken before this date, the game put it as a UFA instead of a RFA notwithstanding i made a qualifying offer to the player. Someone know exactly the answer or experienced this ? Cause I remember having lost Higgins last year by giving him the qualifying offer needed but he became a UFA on july 1st probably cause i made the offer couples of days before and he didnt answer before the deadline and then the game put it as a UFA .... I would like to know how it works as im approaching the end of the playoffs and dont want to experience the same. Now i made a qualifying offer for each of my players and they answered all. Those who declined, when i go in offer new contract, it doesnt say anymore '' you have to make a qualifying offer of xxx xxx $/year ''. So i suppose that now those will become RFA instead of UFA on july 1st !?!? A bit confusing .... thats why I'm looking for help.

And I dont want to sign some of my RFA who are asking for ridiculous salary increament and wait later in the summer to negociate ...

Hard to stay under the cap with the increament of salary ...

And by the way, are you using the editor for adjusting the salary cap in the game ?? do you know if the NHL in real life will increase the cap after this season and for the following season like if it was following the inflation ??? How much should it be increased approximatly in reality every year ... etc. ?

The problem about the qualifying offer made just a few days before July 1st and not being answered, resulting as a UFA, is a bug that has already been noticed on SI boards. I don't remembered if it's already fixed or not for the main patch, but i'm nearly sure that it will be.

The cap has been created to maintain every team in a good financial status. So if every team has a positive financial balance at the end of the season, i guess the cap may be increased.

For information, cap was 39M$ last year and 44M$ this year. Can't tell you if it will increase this fast every year. I don't think so, as it will mainly depend on how healthy the teams are financially.

Hope that helps :)

Yeah ok now I understand that it's a bug and we have to factor in couples of weeks of time for the player to answer. I play with version 3.0.1, so should be fixed for the nest one as you say.

And for the salary cap, I knew it was 39 last year and 44 this year. And you got reason by saying it should depend of the financial receipt of the team in the league. So it should be increase again sometimes but probably not with a 5 millions increament like right now. Anyway I think i made like 5 millions of income and i went to the conference final. So i would maybe have make a deficit if my team had miss the playoff .... so its probably okay at 44. Furthermore, MTL have the biggest attendance with approx 21 273 each home games. So i imagine that teams that have around 13 000 of attendance and who miss the playoff are maybe making financial lost .....

Merci bien Shadd666 ! 8-)

That's a pleasure :)

And for the receipts of the clubs, you of course have the attendance that counts and how far the team has gone through the playoffs, but also ticket prices, merchandising and TV rights ;)
