quick pp question: can a player play at any position on the pp without it affecting he's play negatively. take kovalchuk. he normaly plays lw, but on the pp he plays left d. can he do that in the game aswell. and wich position is the player infront of the net on the pp.

The player in the front of the net is usally the center in EHM; at least was in the '05 version if you used crash the net. Check out the guys' 2007 tactics guide post though to double check
As for playing out of postion if you put someone who isn't a defenseman up at the blue line if he's not someone who can do well crambling back on d if needed it could cause you problems. I have done it both ways though, with a third forward or just two d as long as it's the right players. Kovalchuk should be fine because he's so fast he can get back to cover for any possible mistakes.
Anyone else able to speak to their 007 experiences of playing forwards at D slots?

I've used Tomas Holmstrom as a defenseman on the PP in my fantasy draft challenge. He's sound on D, has a big shot, and can pass, the ideal PP point man.
I wouldn't put anyone back there without semi-decent defensive attributes, just in case.

Yes, Daniel Alfredsson can attest to that after last seasons play-off loss to Buffalo.

yeah i remember. it was a nice goal by pominville, but i wouldn't have happened if he was one on one against redden or chara.
