EHM The Blue Line

Hey guys,

Hopefully someone here can assist me in the matter..
I recently felt nostalgic and decided to start playing some EHM 2005 (Crosby draft eligible after first season, why not?).

Installed it on my PC (Win 10) - check!
Run as admin - check!
Trying to start the game as admin - nothing happens!
Updated the game to the latest available version - check!
Triyng to start the game once again - nothing happens!

Can't for the Life of me figure out why it won't start. I don't get any indications (except for that the <snip> game won't start) that it shouldn't work..

Sooo, is there anyone out there who Thinks they might have an idea/fix to my problem?

It very rarely helps, but have you tried running it in say Windows XP Compatibility Mode?

Some old games just can't run in Win 10. Although MS does keep making noise about trying to have it support more legacy applications. I run Win 10 and it's frustrating because I like older games, but time does march on.

Ah, yes. Forgot to mention that. I'm running it with XP Compatibility Mode. Actually tried all of the different modes..

I'm also having the same issue. I'm running on Windows 7 and have selected to run the game as in compatibility mode for Windows XP. When I try to launch the game I get a popup for "User Account control" asking if I want to let a programme make changes to the computer and to run "hm1.exe".

When I select OK nothing happens. In control panel it never registers hm1 or hockey manager appearing.

I do not recall being able to run EHM 2005 on Windows 7 or 10 either. I fear it is simply not compatible given its age.

You could try using Dependency Walker to see if the EHM/HM1 exe file is missing any required dll files. There is a brief overview of how to use Dependency Walker here: http://www.thewindowsclub.com/dependenc ... r-download

I does/can work on Win 10. I've had it working myself. I ended up asking Riz, but I can't remember where, I think it may have been a facebook message? and he suggested some things to try and it eventually loaded up! I have a new PC now with only EHM 1 and EHM 07 installed and seen as I have no disk drive i haven't put 05 back on yet. But it works I was playing it! If i can find the messages, whatever forum or page it was on i'll reply.
