EHM The Blue Line

I've noticed a lot recently that when I go to make a trade which seems obviously in our favour, most assistant gm's would say, "I really don't approve of this deal". Pretty much every trade proposal I could make, I get that message. This needs to be fixed, but in the mean time, is there any solution I can use in the game? I feel like I can't even make trades anymore.

Yeah it has always been like this, even in EHM 07. The AI always seems to be overly attached to their players and they overestimate them almost all the time. Sometimes it's completely the opposite!

For now just live with the fact that the AI in this game is brain-dead. As long as you sit on very positive/delighted with your board you can make at least 2-3 trades that the AI hates per off-season without it really mattering. As long as you're a winning team the loss in fan support and Board happiness will bounce back quickly. I'd prefer if completely unfinished/broken mechanics like this were just kept out of the game until they were finished.
The only reason a mechanic like this is even in the game is for immersion, and because of how poorly realized it is the opposite effect of breaking immersion is reached instead. If there was an option to turn off board/Assistant GM feedback on trades I'd use it and never look back; A mechanic that's been broken for over 10 years now won't realistically ever be fixed.

As far as I can tell the AI looks at trades purely from a Reputation standpoint, it assigns certain picks certain Reputation value, just like all players have a Reputation value in the db. This is why it's possible to trade something like 3 bad picks, 3 bad prospects for a quite good prospect. Because the total Reputation of all the useless stuff you've thrown in is enough to "outvalue" the 1 useful piece you're trading for in the eyes of the AI (because it's brain-dead). That's why you're only allowed 1-for-1 trades using the challenge rules.

just ignore the AGM. There's really only one thing that might get you in really hot water and that's trading away a key player or a very promising prospect the board values highly without getting a return they consider to be acceptable.
