Sorry for a brief hijack Minty, but while we are on the subject if altering colours, is there any way to change the colour of the news envelope so that it is easier to see if there are new messages, ie white when you have read all messages and yellow if there are new messages. I've already changed the player attributes after using your guide and this is the only other tweak I would like in my game.

Thanks in advance

No problem... actually the mail icons are both graphics, so you could make the "you've got mail" envelope blood red if you wanted to. I haven't tested it out this year yet but last year for some reason the file names were flipped with the "nomail.png" image showing when you had mail and "mail.png" file showing when you didn't :dunno:

I'll put together and release a 'skin elements' set addressing that and release it soon. The images you want though are in the skins folder: skins/ehm_default/icons/notifications

Split this off to it's own thread... I've actually worked up a set that is a tweak for the default set. This set will make your "disabled" icons 65% transparent and grey instead of just a bit lighter colored. I also made the "you have new mail" indicator have a red glow/outline to it.

To use them just use this folder as your 'notifications' folder here: skins/ehm_default/icons/notifications

Download link: Default Reworks

I'm just linking to it for now from this message as I am going to design a few other styles that will be from new icons as I honestly don't care for/"get" the whole "envelope" = messages thing but at least it's better than "open envelope means messages closed envelope means no messages" system from '05. Since they are very small I'll release the whole set with a key image and people can then choose which look they want in their game.

I never really payed much attention to the notification icons, but this new envelope actually makes a difference.

Good stuff, Minty!

I might actually do some graphics work beyond logos this year since these folders are so easy to use!

Yeah, I'm hoping that people will be more willing to jump in with stuff if they see they don't have to redesign a skin top to bottom like mine did for 2005; for example but like Stinty did redesigning the rink graphics and I'm planning to do with this set... things like a scroll bar pack and buttons pack are what I'm also thinking of when I get the time and I know I can get them out to people quickly and they can take their choice instead of being locked into one set of changes. But I'll post more about that when I get some examples done. :-k
