I just download a roster and i replaced a NHL team with another team put all of their players UFAs. My question is my parent club so the NHL team has only signed say like 17-19 players all for the NHL team and me playing as their AHL has yet to sign anyone for our AHL team and i started on July 2nd and it is almost end of August. Does the NHL not sign AHL players the first season and just start signing them end of season 1 for Season 2

The roster management AI isn't good enough for it to be able to properly deal with its NHL team. I'd be very surprised if it even considers AHL depth when it does things. So you'll eventually get players just based on your parent club drafting players and amassing too much cap hit/players to force them into sending you something to work with. But don't expect it to go out and sign undrafted College/CHL players just to fill your lineup ever.

NHL teams typically have 40-50 players signed, not less than 20, and I suspect that's what's causing issues

EHM has not shown itself capable of fixing incomplete editing (you can't just put all players to UFAs and expect the game to take it from there)
