We are proud to announce that we're releasing the TBL DB 2018 Beta version.
Please note that this is a beta version: use it at your own risk. While playing should be fine, the DB is released for testing purposes.
What's in:
* Leagues fully updated to 2017-18 alignment, ruleset, and schedule:
North America: NHL, AHL, ECHL, FHL
Austria: EBEL, Alps Hockey League
Czech Republic: First two pro leagues
Finland: Liiga
France: Magnus League and National League 1
Germany: DEL and DEL2
Japan: Asia Ice Hockey League
Norway: GET-Ligaen
Russia: KHL
Sweden: SHL and Allsvenskan
Switzerland: NLA, NLB
All international tournaments are working, although we need to work on "what team plays where"
* Rosters are fully updated for NHL, KHL, and Sweden. We need more people to fill rosters in! Player histories for Russian leagues are updated.
* Player ratings were worked for Russian leagues and some (a few!) NHL prospects from 2017 and future drafts. Some players were re-rated, but it should have a minor impact on the DB itself. We are working on NHL players.
* I have made a couple of improvements for NCAA leagues. Now you can try and get 17-years-old players from USHL and similar leagues to future-transfer to your team. I also have disabled trading between NCAA teams. You should also be able now to sign players from USHL/NAHL. Please provide us with feedback.
What's NOT in:
* All the leagues in 9.6 are active. If your favorite league isn't in the aforementioned list, it will be updated in time for the October release.
* NCAA teams are NOT updated
* NHL players are NOT re-rated.

The Jets have 59m in cap penalties to start the game.
Is there a way to remove this from save games in the editor?

I'm not sure it can be removed from a saved game.
However, I uploaded a new version with this typo corrected. It also has many new transfers, and a further optimized database. The download link should be the same, but I post it once again:

Is there anyway we could help with the player histories since they haven't been updated yet?
And if we could I wouldn't really know how to extract it through EHM Editor.

Are you doing only 2016-17? Otherwise it will be the hell with NCAA duplicates

I don't know if this is a bug or intended. But i tried the Vegas golden knights and I tried and wasn't able to get above the 4th overall draft picks, i was curious and tried multiple times with the same save and couldn't get above the 4th overall. and Will you be able to set up de rules that they cannot draft lower then the 6th overall for three years?

When you mean filling rosters in, is it like looking up a team (ex: Maple Leafs) and then creating like a word document of what the roster is? Or is there another way to do it.

I'm doing all missing seasons. It won't result in any duplicates.

How do you know? If you have in EP a season with NCAA and in DB with hockey east for example, it does create duplicates.
If you make a mistake with team names, and with some teams it's easy, you get duplicates.

The Editor will only import new seasons and not any data for old seasons. E.g. for a player with histories up to 2013/14, only histories for 2014/15 will be imported. So it won't overwrite or add data for existing seasons.

Then maybe there is a bug in the editor because it does import old seasons if league or team don't match. Try with one of the big files you sent me. You'll see that KHL stats are all made with "Russian superleague". If you don't edit them to be KHL, you'll get duplicates.

Will the official version have the top 6 protected picks for Vegas or no?

That's not something we have the control on.

new schedule has some issues. like 3 games in 3 days and even 5 in 5! still better than another year with 15/16 calendar!

5 in 5? Never seen. Some 3 in 3 I guess they left in, I re-did again the schedules but it looks like it wasn't enough.
I'll try to find some time to further fine-tune it.

Rangers have @NJD | @MIN | @NYI | @OTT | vsPHI between Feb27 and Mar3.

Yes. it's all in DB schedule. trough 17-18 season every team has multiple 3in3. a lot of teams has 4in4 (Florida have two such streaks, Nov 26-29 and Apr 8-11).

I checked the comp rule for Swedish Hockey League and Swedish HockeyAllsvenskan in the beta release and noticed that the sorting rule for these leagues are incorrect.
The sorting rule for both leagues are as follow:
1. Goal Difference
2. Goals For
3. Own match
Anyways, keep up the good work.

Hvae you guys gotten the new CHL format to work? I've gotten the league structured and working just fine (32 teams, 4 groups of 8 then round robin playoff) but because there are now 32 and not 48 and because the whole license system is now gone and it is merit-based - I can't get the correct field of 32 for the 17-18 season. I tried resetting all CHL licenses to none for the old format and then re-applying A, B and C licenses to the actual 32 clubs in this year's CHL but it always picks some random teams from the leagues involved. I even tried getting rid of A licenses entirely and just using 32 B & C (so that again, it is merit-based) but that didn't really work either.

No, of course it's hardcoded stuff. Need to wait for 1.5 to see if Riz will be able to code appropriately.
