Powerhouse teams? (EHM 07)

I am still playing ESHM 2007 (yes im old school.) I have both the pregame and saved game editors. With the pregame editors Ive don't a lot of messing around. Creating non playable leagues, new teams, new players, ect. The game itself works great. Now here's where I run into problems. I have folded the Arizona Coyotes and Florida Panthers, and rearranged the AHL a bit. With this I have created 4 brand new teams. One from Seattle, one from Vegas (both NHL) and a 2nd LA team and Portland for AHL.
The players from Florida and Arizona I scattered around the league. Vegas and Seattle started out FRESH. NO CONTRACTS at all when I start the game with NO really good free agents in the pool. Im about a month into the first season and Vegas and Seattle are have combined between the 2 of them, ONLY 2 losses. Both teams are filled with players Ive never personally heard of, mostly in their mid to late 30s. Both Goalies starting goalies are both guys again ive never heard of, and they are averaging +9 rating per game, and both are on a vezina pace. Both have at least 3 Defensemen that are above 9 game average, and Vegas's top line are 1-2-3 in league scoring, BY A LOT. Even the new AHL teams are very similar. they are unbeatable. What is going on? I don't like it. Any way I can fix this this?
This is about my 5th time using my current DB with these new teams. EVERY SINGLE game I start is the exact same. Only difference is the rosters themselves.
(one game i got curious and simmed the whole season. Vegas won the cup, having only lost 7 games all year... including playoffs. Awards vegas goalie wins vezina, vegas dman wins norris, vegas player wins Hart, Art ross, and Richard, and vegas coach wins Adams. Yes my game is all fiction, but come on. This makes no sense and is not realistic at all. 4 first year FA filled teams, being powerhouses from year 1. I want to fix this.
