EHM The Blue Line

This is a very early release intended for testing / experimentation. Whilst some playable leagues are accurate, there are many leagues which require further work (for example some leagues have accurate regular season rules but not playoff rules). See the status table below.

Any feedback regarding incorrect rules, schedules, etc are very welcome.

Note (1): The "In EHM 2007?" indicates whether or not this league was playable in EHM 2007.

Note (2): A "Y" in the Schedule column means that reasonably accurate schedule dates have been set which will EHM will use to dynamically generate a schedule in game. "RL" means that the real life 2006/07 schedule has been added to the database. "Temporary" means that a temporary schedule has been set for the purposes of getting the structure up and running (a final schedule will be set in due course).


ORIGINAL POST (09 JUNE 2019):

I've been playing around with the idea of developing a retro database for EHM 1 in order to take a bit of a break from the Editor work and also to spend some proper time testing out workflow in the Editor. Seeing as the excellent Updated Unfaking Database v6.x (UUDB) by CJ (previously developed by Alessandro, Hobbit13, Lazion and others) has not been touched since 2013 and is not in EHM 1 format, I figured I would try to carry on his and his predecessors' good work. It seems a real shame that this database has not been made available in EHM 1 format. Personally, the 2006/07 season brings back some good memories; not just because it was the opening season in EHM 2007 but also because it reminds me of the time when the TBL community was still emerging.

Anyone who has tried to import the UUDB v6.1 into EHM 1 will have found that only a limited number of leagues are playable in comparison to EHM 2007. My first aim is to make all of the leagues that were playable in EHM 2007 playable in EHM 1. This is quite a time consuming process but I have made reasonable progress in the space of about two weeks. I really hope to have all leagues playable before the end of the summer, if not sooner. I also want to make some additional leagues playable too; such as the French and Italian leagues and the various additional World Championship divisions from the modern EHM 1 database. There are also the [MET] EHM 2007 scoring patch effects which I will need to reverse by rolling back certain attributes to the v6.0 UUDB attributes.

Once I have added the various playable leagues, I'm going to take a look at things like player career histories. Assuming all goes well, I'll also take a look at adding missing players and prospects as well as things such as Player Role ratings.

Awesome to see this, any idea on when this may be finished, I used to play the previous version on EHM 2007, and have been hoping somebody would update it for EHM 1.

I took a break from the modern rosters to briefly return to the 2006/07 rosters. There's still a lot to do, but I have added some additional playable leagues - see the first post in this thread.

on a side note, I'm not sure if I asked you here or on HFBoards.. When the game originally came out, (fake names database) which DB year is that based off of?

No I'm afraid not. Ideally I'd like to get a version out before Christmas but it depends on my job (this time of year is super busy).

Now is this like a 'modern' version of the EHM 2007 rosters?

It's the 2006/07 Unfaking Database from EHM 2007 (which is basically the vanilla EHM 2007 DB with faked players corrected and various attributes, etc tweaked) which I have converted to EHM 1 format and have added extra playable leagues.

Just bumping this to check the progress? Can't wait to have a longevity EHM07 part II save.

Sorry there's nothing to report at present. I've been spending all of my time recently on adding new functions to the Editor to help the Pivot Rosters along with developing a brand new version of the Editor (Editor v2). Once I have made some more progress with the Editor then I'll switch back and will finalise the first beta of the database. It shouldn't take me long - it's just finding a spare day or two. I will task myself with getting this done by early Feb latest.

Unfortunately I'll have to delay the rosters by a month or so. There are a couple of bugs in the Editor which I've been fixing and now we have found another one today which is going to take a while to fix (and I'm away one week). So mid-March is more likely now.

How much further from 2007 does the prospect pool reach BTW? I would love to be able to play a database that had multiple years of real prospects, just adds to the feeling of realism so much.

At the moment, only some future prospects are currently present in the DB. All I have done so far is add some playable leagues and undo a Realism/Scoring Patch which was previously applied to the UUDB. So 99.99% of the work in the DB is by the original authors of the Unfaking Database and Updated Unfaking Database and not me. I can't recall whether Alessandro and team added any prospects up to 2011 but I know CJ added some up to 2014 (see here for an approximate, but most likely out of date list).

I'm going to continue to work on the playable leagues for now. I want to be in a position where all of the original EHM 2007 playable leagues are playable in EHM 1. I can then take a look at adding missing prospects for each NHL draft. The great thing is that we have all of the ratings from subsequent TBL Rosters, so I can base ratings on those. I actually have a half-finished tool which allows me to track players' ratings across databases. I should really finish that at some point as it would be a great help.

In the meantime, I'm going to switch back to the Editor for a little while but I'll try and turn back to the database in a month or so.

Thank you for your effort! Btw. are there any graphical addons you could recommend to use with this db?

I'm not sure if it's useful but I've noticed that Dwayne Roloson's from the Oilers stats are way too good, he's so staked!

Has anyone had an issue with the DB not showing up in your ones to pick from when starting a new save? Have subscribed/re-subscribed and then quit/reopen steam and it hasn't appeared yet.

Edit: actually I have a subscribed, needs update issue if that happened to anyone else

started a recent save on this DB as the habs and Perezhogin is signed to an NHL contract but is arranged to transfer to the russian superleague. is this a bug or normal for the DB? i can send you a copy of the db if needed.

It's normal for the database. There are a number of future transfers of players set up in the extra_config.cfg file which accompanies the database and which includes the Perezhogin transfer. I'm guessing this is to reflect his real life return to Russia following the 2006/07 season but I wouldn't want to second-guess the original database authors (especially Alessandro who is an expert on Russian hockey).

If you're not happy with that transfer occurring, you can delete this line from the extra_config.cfg file (or any of the other lines which have transfers you don't like) before starting a new game:

dumb question... do you guys know if it can just start as a new league or if it has to be ehm1 imported?

You can just start a new game like normal. No need to import.
