What files make up a database?

So before I know there was a whole bunch of files in the database directory. Now i downloaded an updated roster from steam and it only has 5 files in it. I just want to make sure thats all we need for the database now? Just because i nthe pre game editor i want to edit a few things and in those 5 files there is no index file. So i am not sure if i gotta download an old database just copy those 5 files into it and it will be updated or what not..
