Economics - Shareholder Payout

So after my first season in the NHL on the latest rosters i made around 950M SEK(around $95M). Then the shareholder payout event ran and they got 1.13B SEK($113M) and all of a sudden my last season financial result is -261M SEK($26.1M). Why does this happen? Is it really realistic that a team goes with loss just because the shareholders need a payout? That they get part of the winnings i can see as reasonable, but making the team finances bleed because of it? Seems weird. Im down to just 70M SEK($7M) in the bank and wont be able to take that kind of loss next season. How does this work?
