EHM The Blue Line

was poking around in the EHM1 files and found the pundit.cfg file and was wondering if this has any effect in game. I added a few to test and didn't see any of them in game so I figured it either doesn't work or I did something wrong.

It seems to me like this was a feature in previous games that maybe wasn't implemented in EHM1 and if that's the case I think its a shame because it honestly seems pretty neat as a little cosmetic feature.

This is where EHM lacks a lot in my opinion : Human management and Media relationship

It would be great to have to deal with different personalities within a team and find a good fit for everyone (i.e : do not put the offensive Dman primadonna with a youngster who can't handle peer pressure yet).
Talking with players in order to make them progress on hockey iq, or team/franchise doctrine.
Also, a team's "hierarchy" of players, with the leaders on top and having to find players who make things work (i.e : Nate Thompson is highly praised IRL for his off-ice abilities, maintaining a good locker room mood and making youngsters, vets and primadonnas get along..

As for media stuff, I'll shoot some ideas I had for a while :
- Dealing with newspapers reports and their potencial effects on player(s) morale
- Answering locker room scrum questions and holding off press conferences (a bit like Football Manager does)
- PR stuff and communication around Draft, trades, and general rankings of a GM's team

and so on.

I understand it is really not feasible as of today in EHM, but I'm strongly believing a new game developped around FM2020 features and flow would be very cool !

This, in it's most basic form is in EHM 2007 so surely it is also in EHM Steam? I remember answering the odd question and it can have a + or - effect on the player.

I also had an incident where a player when awol because he couldn't handle the pressure of big city life. This I only seen once years ago but it was pretty interesting.

Yes! This whole feature of interactions is something I've wanted ported over from Football Manager for a long time. (Wasn't that first introduced in FM2012(?)). The whole player interactions like: regarding contracts, player form, contract negotiations or even media interactions before and after a game are sorely needed.

It's funny. The 'hierarchy' idea of players sounds something like the 'Team Dynamics' feature that was implemented in FM20. I felt like when I was playing FM20, it was building rosters around 'cliques' and not team building.

I feel like you see those tidbits (AWOL, angry at ownership, pressure, etc.) are something I see a lot more in lower leagues than the major ones.

There's a job in the editor listing for "pundit" but I've never seen it implemented in the game. It'd add a nice bit of flavor to the game to have former players take on commentary/pundit roles like Mike Milbury etc. And have some be hireable by your team as play-by-play guys like John Davidson
