EHM The Blue Line

Hi,

I'm just finished playing the 2022-23 season in EHM-1.50. I'd like to move on to the next season, and I'd like to increase the salary cap. I've tried to do this using the EHM Editor V1.1.8.

I saved the game uncompressed, opened it in the editor and was able to locate and change the salary cap. I saved the game, tried re-opening it in the game, but got an error saying the saved game was corrupt and cannot be loaded.

Has anyone encountered this problem before? I've seen on this board that there are other ways of changing the salary cap, but I haven't been able to get these to work either. Any ideas what, if anything I can do?

Sorry if I haven't given enough information to troubleshoot this issue, I'm not the most computer savvy player.

I'm afraid saved game editing isn't really possible beyond certain very minor items (such as changing a DOB) using the EHM Editor. I'm going to add some clearer warning to the next version of the Editor because, as you have found out, editing saved games generally results in irreversible corruption. Unfortunately there's no way of fixing the corruption and so you'll need to revert to a backup (hopefully you took a backup before editing or you have been using rolling saves in EHM).

I believe the salary cap can be edited using the EHM Assistant so you might want to try that: http://ehmtheblueline.com/assistant

I've tried out the Assistant, and it works to the extent that I can change DOB, I can change things like the seating capacity, but even though it looks like I can change the salary cap in the Assistant, it doesn't look like it's changed in-game. Strange, I feel like I'm doing something wrong...

And yes, I joined this group many years ago, and played the original free version of EHM way back when. Took a break for a while and came back recently with a goal to play it a bit more. It seems fairly realistic, but it would be nice to raise the cap a bit.

I was able to change the salary cap and my team's budget using the editor 1.5.0.38. It's a very useful tool.
