can someone please help me with this. the problem is. when i try put the pictures in to my game the only ones that work are the players that doesnt have an original profile picture. the players that have a tbl style picture or no picture at all gets overwritten, but not guys like filppula and a lot of other guys. i just cant overwrite the original game pictures.

I think the picture packs only include players that originally don't have a picture.
So that would be why someone like Filppula (a player that already has a picture in the game) doesn't have a tbl style picture.

are all the pictures in your pictures/players/ folder in .jpg format? because I believe that the game defers to .png files when there are two files of the same name in both formats. All the original pictures that came with the game are in .png format unless you've installed this:
default player pics: JPEG format
all you really need to do is delete all the .png files from the folder, install the above pack of pics (without overwriting, unless you want to have to re-install all the picture packs), and all other pic packs you install from now should overwrite the correct files you intended to change.

Hi guys...just a quick clarifiction. The game uses it's own image format called .EHG files. These are the files the game reverts to over JPG's (not PNG's, as mentioned above). I would recommend installing the file auteurdecinema reccommends above (when it's back online -

). This way you'll have all the EHG files gone and you can work with only JPG's which will then always show up in-game.
Hope this makes it a little clearer.
Cheers all.

We are moving files on the server, and it's the large files that haven't gone over yet, but I'm going to to restore the default pics today by re-uploading them as I have them on my machine.
.ehg's are SI's own naming convention. They are however only a naming matter, not an actual file format. The files are in fact .png files. If you want to open them in an editor for example you have to rename them to .png at the end. I find theis terribly silly and a lot of extra work for everyone. Also .png files are memory hogs, leading to files being of unreasonable sizes when the same graphical results could be achieved by .jpg files at saving of 100 or more k per card; so take that figure multiply by a card set that has 400 cards and you can see why card sets this year are in the 3-7 meg range not the 22-60 meg range. This leads to significantly less download time, less bandwith draw and files taking up less drive space.
Yes, the game does show pictures in the .ehg/.png format over a .jpg formatted card of the same player. However I feel the benfits for both sites that carry the cards and users that are downloading the cards are worth the extra trouble. I recreated created the game's default pictures as .jpgs to help people with this conversion. Simply toss your .ehg versions, download the default pack first, then copy over them with any TBL cards and you'll retian those players that have yet to be covered, have the new images for players that have and save yourself some 30 meg of disk space in the process

Okay, I overstated things a bit, but the file is up now and it in fact is 22 meg smaller in jpg format than in .ehg/.png and that's just one example. To us broadbander's that's no big deal I know but to a dialup user that's a giant change. Also, that means each time the file is downloaded and we easily get over 1000 dl per popular file we save 22 meg of bandwith allowing TBL to continue to provide direct download of files without switching to torrent or having to use something like rapidshare etc.
The file is up under 'Official Files' because obviously these were provided by SI, I just converted them for people's convenience:

One thing I found out helping another person earlier was to mention that you shouldn't use double digits for single digit dates, so if a player is born on the 6th of June use 6_6 instead of 06_06.

Is there like a complete set with the card template? I'm sure it has most of the NHL players, but what should I do about AHL/OHL/ECHL and other league pics?

Alright, seeing as we don't really know what you did to get to this point, I'll outline installing the cards stet by step.
(You might want to make a backup of the player cards you currently have working before you attempt any of this!)
Most (or all?!) of the facepacks on TBL are produced in JPG format. By default, the in-game pictures use a format called .EHG IT WILL REVERT TO THIS IMAGE OVER A JPG. For example, if you have both Some_Player_7_6_1976.EHG and Some_Player_7_6_1976.JPG in your pictures\players folder - The game will show the EHG file instead of the JPG if both are present!
What I did to solve this for myself, is download Minstrel's EHG to JPG conversion pack -
LINK
Then I deleted all my old EHG files, copied in Minstrels JPGS and then added in any other facepacks I wanted by simply coping over the default JPG file with the identically named JPG file from the facepacks. Easy? I think so.
Here are CatchUp's five simple steps for installing a facepack:
1. Once you've got your chosen facepack unzipped, open it's containing folder.
2. Highlight all the files or press CTRL - A
3. Copy all the files by pressing CTRL - C
4. Navigate to C:\Program Files\Sports Interactive\NHL Eastside Hockey Manager 2007\data\pictures\players or whatever the equivalent link is on your system.
5. Press CTRL - V to paste all the selected files to the pictures\players directory.
That's it! If that doesn't work for you then I'm afraid you have a problem we can't fix.
Cheers all, and happy facepacking!

i know how to install the new facepacks. i have a lot of new pictures. its just that when i try to delete one of the ehg. pictures and replace it with a jpg. picture it just turns out blank in the area where the photo was supposed to be.
when i have deleted one of the old ehg. pictures. should i just highlight the picture i want and then do that ctrl-c and ctrl-v thing. thats what i did and it didnt work. at least not the first time, but i can try again.

Hi Guys...here's the facepackcreator himself
let's try to solve your problems step by step:
as said before you must note that ehm has some rules:it can display 3 different formats of pics: .ehg, .png,.jpg
let's pretend you have the card of Bruno_St. Jacques_22_8_1980 in all 3 formats.

the Bruno_St. Jacques_22_8_1980.
ehg will always be shown first .
if the player has no .ehg, it will show the Bruno_St. Jacques_22_8_1980.
png.
if you don't have both, ehm will show the Bruno_St. Jacques_22_8_1980
.jpg. and thats what we want.
the folder where you need to install is: NHL Eastside Hockey Manager 2007\data\pictures\players\
NOTE: the cards MUST be inside the players folder. be sure there is not another players folder inside the main-players folder. that's the most error that occurs if you unzip the packs directly.
i recommend to unzip the files to your harddisk, open the players folder seperatly and copy them all into it(ctrl-C/ctr-v or drag and drop).
if you want to delete a file (.ehg or .png) highlight the file and press DEL and then ok. now the file is gone.
BTW: I only have .jpg's in my players folder and recommend that. so if nothing works, the drastic solution is:
delete everything that is in your players folders, so that it is empty, and install all facepacks again. minstrel has converted the original pics from .ehg to .jpg. so you must only download them and install them (link is somewhere above in this thread). but this pack must be installed FIRST, and then all other TBL facepacks.
hope this helps, if not post again

After re-reading your post, I think I found your problem. If you're selecting your old EHG pictures and pressing CTRL-C and then CTRL-V - you're not deleting them! You're making another copy of them! To delete an EHG file, just click it once and press delete on your keyboard. Then press OK when it asks if you're sure. Your file will end up in the Recycle Bin (if you're using Windows).
Aside from that, myself and D88 have spelled out exactly how to install the facepack cards in 2 seperate posts in this thread. Please read them carefully and follow the instructions exactly before you post. D88 is responsible for creating about 95% of the facepacks you see on the site and Minstrel and I would probably cover the other 5%. So trust us, this is how you install facepacks!
Cheers and best of luck.

I have a little question here:
I play right now in the Q with the Halifax Mooseheads and as I like to see the face of the players I have the 2005 Q facepack installed in my player folder.
But I would like to know if there is a way (dont know, maybe with winzip or something) to convert all these old EHG files into jpg files??
I know that u can do it by changing the name and simply put the jpg ending to it, but doing it to all the files is going to be too time-eating...
Is there a program who allows u to change all the files in one time or do I have to go card by card???
In other words, I would like to do what auteurdecinema did with the default pictures, but with the facepacks from the 2005 game....is this even possible??
Feedback would be appreciated!!!

Hey flea,
Unfortunetely, I think you'll have to wait. My understanding is that a lot of the old facepacks were released in PNG form, which is really all EHG files are - renamed PNG's. So you've got a couple options.
1. You could download a graphics editor open each file and re-save it as a JPG.
2. You could wait until someone like D88 or Minty or myself, etc converts all the old packs to JPG. Then you could just download and install as usual.
Now that development on the game has ceased, all we can really upgrade are the graphics. I know Minty has mentioned changing all the old facepacks over to JPG - it's just a matter of when it gets done and who does it.
Cheers.

Thanks a lot CatchUp!!!
Well, I have started converting the QMJHL Draft 2005 file!!
...but when I had about 25 I had to stop, LOL!!! But I will continue when I have some minute free and then, step by step I will finish it....hopefully, LOL!!!
Iam converting the EHG to .jpg ....think thats ok like that
Would it be interesting for u guys that I upload it when Iam done??? Like that the file could be available also for you guys!!
Greets
Edit: BTW, the biggest problem I have is that I dont know how to "highlight" the file with the keyboard....well, I mark it, but then I have to hit the mouse button again to "highlight" the name to change it...Iam sure there is a way to do it with the keyboard alone....but I dont know how, snif, snif

If you have WinRAR or WinZip, you should be able to just right click on the file, and then select Open. A list of programs should come up, select WinRAR or WinZip, and you should then be able to unzip the file as usual.
