The TBL Popo Tour!

Okay, obviously the Holy Grail of the game is complete a World Tour; playing every city.

Well we gave it a few test runs with The Dead Generation, coming back to NYC between, then we headed out to try and knock out some cities from the list and see how it goes. Well, lessons learned it's not easy but it can be done

We have the big Competition gigs coming up for the TBL Punk Bands, and TDG will be heading to LA, and coming back to New York through Mexico and Nashville. We're going to record our first singles in NYC but will be heading out for another big tour after. I have been looking at the schedule and I believe we'll set out on February 1st.

The benefit of that is that our next Halloween boost is on the 12th and then NYE boost is on the 20th so we should be able to keep our health up without taking off long stretches to rest.

One thing about The Road is it does get to be a little boring/odd without all our TBL friends so I was hoping all the TBL Popomundians could join us!

So for everyone's feedback, I've segmented off the next big chunk of cities which would leave us with only 5 more between us TDG guys and the 'Completed A World Tour' award and they are all easily accessable as a group later on. So this would be just over a month long, getting us back to NYC around the 7th of March with another 9 cities off the list and hitting the largest Euro cities again to keep the momentum going.

Tentative Schedule:

Leave NYC on Thurs the 1.02
Play Toronto on Friday 2.02 (keep that Canadian fame going!)
Play Nashville Saturday 3.02 (keep building on our North American Fame since its on the route anyhow)
Play Buenos Aires Monday 5.02
Play Sao Paulo Wednesday 7.02
Play Rio Thursday 8.02 (they are only 3 hrs away from each other)

[Here people could head back to NY if they wanted, The Dead Generation will go on to Europe]

We'll go from Rio to Porto then on to Madrid!

Play Madrid Friday 10.02
Play Barcelona Saturday 11.02
We can get away with a bit of a compact schedule there because 12.02 is Halloween
Play Paris 14.02*

That hits three of the largest PopoCities and gets us back on our route to cities no TBL bands have played yet! We will take off until the weekend in Paris to make sure we're all set to finish off the second half of the tour:

Play at the newest Popo town: Brussels Friday 17.02
Play Berlin 19.02 Sunday*
On to Copenhagen Monday 20.02

The 20th is NYE so another mood boost  then we'll add exta travel days for the rest of tour so we don't wear down.

Play Stockholm Wed 22.02
Play Helsinki Friday 24.02
Play Tromso Sunday 26.02
Play Glasgow Tuesday 28.02
Mood boost on 03.03 for Valentine's Day 8-)
Play V-Day Show in London Friday 3.03
Play 2nd London show Saturday 4.03 since London is the largest PopoCity

Go back to NYC, count our money and bask in our new found fame :joy:

*I ended up moving the Paris and Berlin gigs forward one day when actually scheduling the gigs in the game.

That leaves for us TDG'ers only with the wildly out of the way Melbourne and Moscow, then Vilnius, Dubrovnik and Istanbul... and we have completed world domination :guns:

Looks good, and Never Dies has got an invitation to a competition in Sao Paulo at 2.3 so I hope we can be there then. :-D

Yeah, I'd guess you'd just go from Glasgow then and not book any London shows. I think that would still get you to the 'Played 15 Cities' mark so you'll have three sets of touring points (for 5, 10 and 15 cities played).

When I book us out I'll let you know what clubs in the cities are 5 * for punk and you can either search for the club via the serach page and see if they have a booking link there (you don't have to be at a location to book) otherwise I'll mention in the note I always send to the CEO or whoever they have listed as booking contact that we'd like them to make a booking for our tourmate on the same date. Then you can contact them and I'm sure we'll be able to get it all set up pretty easily. Set Never Dies' hotel preferences to stay in the cheapest hotels and I think the most we paid on our last tour was like 80 I think?? So everyone's salaries should be able to cover them. This would be fun.

This sounds like a really cool idea. Plus, I'm sure the touring will help our album sales.

Quick question:

Is it possible to schedule shows without going to the club/city?

Nope, you don't have to be in the city to book a show.

Okay, I'm going to book out our tour in a bit and for the benefit of Never Dies' band leader, even though today he booked a NYC gig at our competition club, I'll let you know the 4 and 5 star venues for each stop. Cause that's just how I roll.

It seems that Rory Dunning (B. Stinson) will be coming along with us as well so that's cool; the more friends on the road the more better! I hope Floyd's can make it out with us through the Rio gig, that would be a good start for them as their first tour.

Viva la TBL Tour!! :joy:

Anyone need a below average DJ to go on tour.

You're more than welcome  I'd do what I suggest Floyd's do as they are newer to the game too, do the first set through Rio with us and then head back to NYC. The only problem with being on the road for newer players is that you have to stay in a hotel every day you are gone so that can be anywhere from 40-120 bucks depending on the city even when you have your band settings to stay in cheap hotels. Not having the money for a hotel means staying on the streets and that can real pound on your mood and health.

But you should definitiely search for Electronica clubs along the way and either set up shows or message them about invites if they don't allow people to book shows directly.

:swamped: Okay... I've got the whole Tour booked for TDG and I sent all the CEO's/Owners requests along with our message to them to set our prices to please send invites for the same days to Never Dies... I see that four of them are already on you guy's band page :joy:

So Joe, you should I'd say wait a few days and then whatever dates you don't have covered yet you'll have to search out locales or check our page and click through the 'Info' to get to those clubs and ask them to send you an invite (or set yourself up with a booking if they allow that).

IMPORTANT NOTE!! Due to availability I moved two dates, Paris and Berlin forward one day. That was a part of our schedule that had more gaps in it with the planned breaks after Barcelona and Paris so it shouldn't make much of a difference, just wanted to let people know. I edited the correct dates into the initial message.

Well, you'll have to fly I guess... :dunno: Speak of which anyone coming on Tour who hasn't done the take an airplane flight should fly from NY to Toronto as you can do it for only $80 and get that one off the list.

Good to see though that you're all booked for the show, you should send the owners/CEO's messages about setting your ticket prices if they haven't adjusted them already. I'd say shoot for 3 or 4 dollars, it's better to sell a lot of tickets at a lower price than like a hundred at higher one. We'd been doing $6 but I wasn't happy with the numbers and noticed $5 gives us a good compromise of making money and still sellling a lot of tix. We should get good numbers since we've booked so early though, will be fun to keep checking our INFO pages to see the sales roll in. :joy:

Keep in mind that we are playing several locations owned by the same people, all the KrOI!zberg clubs, Masque clubs, and then Stephen's clubs (HAVOC, ANGST, KOBOLD, ANARCHY) have the same contact people, you can save time and just message them all together or they'll think your quite clueless :-p Try to be especially considerate with those messages as all those characters are obviously serious power brokers in the game that would be good to have on your side down the road.

If you want to book along with us on any part of the tour check out the schedule (or you can clikc through to my band page and look at our upcoming shows too) and then go to 'Charts', Locales, Most Popular and then set the first pull-down to 'Sort Clubs By Genre' and select the town, select your genre and the town you are looking for. Click through to the club page and see if at the bottom of the page they have a booking pulldown and see if they are open on our scheduled date. If they don't have an opening or if they don't have a book your own gig policy then check to see who the contact info is and send them a message saying you want to play there and ask for an invite.

Our Tour kickoff dates are coming up soon =D> Ticket sales are going strong so this should be a really successful Tour I think  I'm excited to get out and do some shows!

Those of you coming along with us, if you haven't crossed off the 'Take a flight with a plane' item on your Mother's list I suggest you fly to the Toronto show as tickets to TOR are under $100 which is quite a deal. If you don't need to fly for your MomList then you should just hitch your way as taking a bus doesn't cost ya anything and doesn't hurt your mood/health.

Band Leaders make sure you set your Artist's Hotel Preferences to always stay at the cheapest hotels.

If anyone is saving up for something let April buy it for you and keep your money to use to cover hotel expenses etc on the tour. With everyone making a good salary, many at PITH  you shouldn't have money issues on the road.

Excitment here too, as it will be the first tour for Never Dies, and we'll reach achievements for 5, 10, and 15 cities visited :joy:

Let's TBL rule the popoworld! :p

A reminder to the Never Dies guys, you need to get yourselves to Toronto for your show on the 1st to kick off your tour, we'll be meeting up with you the next day

So, you should move yourself to the New York -> Toronto travel route (with your instruments!) to give yourself time to be picked up and taken to TO for your show. If you won't be online it's not bad to get there early, better than cutting it too close and missing the show!

At that point it will be just us Punkers so we wouldn't want to bring down your clubs Pop rating... but we will be spending the weekend in Paris if you're willing to be seen in public with a bunch of dirty punk rockers :-p

TOUR NOTE: Don't forget it takes 22 hours to get to Buenos Aires from Nashville :-o So that's why I booked us the gap day, because it will be spent travelling pretty much.

Stillblind wrote:You should take some of your millions and take everyone on the super sonic jet. lol
Heh. I wish I had millions :-p Also First Class supersonic Nash -> B.A. would be $3,594 :-o also flying any way but SuperSonic and 1st Class can have a large negative effect on mood and health...

A bit more about hitching rides with other bands, if you want to see when the next bands are leaving for your desired city you need to move your character to the Bus Terminal not the Travel Route to check the list of departures. Usually this isn't much of an issue except for long distances, as I know the ND guys have been hanging out waiting for a ride all day :dunno: but maybe you'll join us on the TDG bus or there are a couple other bands also heading for B.A. later this mornin.

Another Tour note: make sure that you are keeping enough money on you so that you can always afford your hotel/pet foods/gymming or shopping etc. if you are caught without the money to pay for your pets they can get ill and if you don't have the money for your hotel (this is usually at like 10pm I've noticed) you end up sleeping on the street which can do terrible things to your health and mood! I usually keep 300 on me to be safe. Even with shopping/gym/pet/hotel I'd still have the cash on hand to cover it.

Good start on the tour

But i've seen that most Never Dies members weren't connected for a few days... And one is still in NY! Please get a bit more involved guys...
