Well I still am hoping that once InStaaled recovers from his drive crash that he'll either take one of my suggest ways to revive Kelly or just start over with a new character, and he'd be a great add for you guys.

I'm really psyched to see Never Dies picking it up again, the upcoming tour should both be fun and profitable

darn, i forget about inSTAALed drive crash

I was wondering why he didn't answered my PM yet, but now i understand better
Anyone else interested?

Even if inSTAALed returns with Never Dies, there's still an open spot for someone... And priority goes to TBLers, that's why i post this here

Woohoo!

At least, someone answered me!
Not a problem if you actually don't have instruments
Never Dies is about to make a tour. So we don't have a lot of time to jam with new members before bringing them on the tour

That's why i initially thought that we should add the guitarist(s) after the tour, when will be back in NY. This way, it allows you to devellop your character, buy instrument, learn appropriate skills, etc, and then you'll be ok to fit well with the band (i should give you some advices if needed

)
It means that you don't have to leave your band
at once
And don't worry about missing our upcoming tour, as i'll book us an other one a few weeks after this one
Are you still interested to become our guitarist?

The Dead Generation's first few gigs I think Jeb had a bass and April had her mic but nobody esle had instruments

Gotta start somewhere! Also, if you take one of the open bartending jobs at Punks in the Hall (find it under clubs) I can give you a raise since I run the place, that will help you get money for a guitar earlier.
Maybe one of the more veteran guys can get you a basic strings book if you don't have one yet. Otherwise I can buy you one when I get back into town, we're on a three stop mini tour right now but will be back in NYC soon.

Yeah, "un gars a sa fierté"!
Nice to see that we'll soon have a guitarist
I (John Estrada) will interact with you in Popo world if you're already at NYC and give you some advices on how to make your character progress
I'm also gonna inform other members that you'll be our guitarist, so they can start to interact with you too
If you have any questions, just message my character in Popomundo, and i'll be happy to answer/help you
Cheers

Minty, if we take him in the band right now, wouldn't it down our repetitions level drastically?

No, I don't think so... just one more person to decide how high percentage wise you can go in jamming, but I doubt everyone's at 5 stars in Punk Rock anyways, so I don't think it will make much of a difference really. I also doubt anyone has the skills to get more than maybe one star for shows so he'll catch up in time, no problem.

Okay

So if it doesn't affect our repetitions and shows, he'll be with us on the tour

When I've mastered "Basic singing" and "Lead vocals" I will start learning "Basic string instruments". so if we don't get another guitarist, then I can step in and take that spot as well.

Yeah Joe, i've seen you had the basic string instruments skill, and thought about you for a possible spot
BTW, you're right to focus first on your vocals
Now that we have one guitarist, we can take our time before taking a second guitarist

Maybe it's gonna be you, or maybe inSTAALed, if he decides to come back when his computer issues will be ended.
We'll see this later on

Or we can have three guitarists!
BTW, is there more string instruments then a. guitar, e. guitar and bass guitar? If we got two guitarists with InSTAALed I can take another instrument.

Maybe Ukulele or banjo

Or maybe violin, or contrabass...

Does harmonica are there?? If so, it will be my secondary instrument ^^
I'll be the heavy and bluesy guy lol

I take the violin.
Or maybe the ukulele or banjo.
Acoustic guitar would be nice too though.

Guys...let me remember you we're supposed to be a PUNK band!

Not an orchestra

Violin or Banjo could be awesome, with a rythmic folk approach, like "Cowboys Fringuants", but without nationalistic-revendicator texts
Or Joe and I start a Bluegrass band

We can be a punk band with a violinist.
Just look at this heavy metal band:
Anders Olsson (Band leader) Banjoplayer / Leadsinger
Per Eriksson Drummer
Mattias Höstskog Saxophone player
Peter Liljenskog Electric guitarist
Thomas Nyherberg Bass guitarist
Jonas Olenbratt Electric guitarist / Backgroundvocalist

lol
With bagpipes, keyboards, and violin, we'd better be a ska-punk band rather than a NYHC one

Posted: Thu Jan 18, 2007 5:23 pm
by holydogg
A small question: where did you choose subgenre like NYHC, skatepunk etc? In the compose screen I only see straight punk

You can choose a subgenre when you set up the song in your band's repertoire. I know in TDG we've had songs that were originally written as rock or heavy metal songs but we've worked on them as punk songs.
