Is it possible to add backgrounds for the arenas? Ie having a background for Madison Square Garden when games are played there and different one for Air Canada Center and so on...

Thanks!

I don't think so, unfortunately. The best you could do was get them to show as a team background.

In the old CM you could have the stadium shown when playing home games, and as EHM is based on it, then maybe, but I haven't figured it out anyway.

If you have a custom team background behind your roster page for example and it doesn't show up behind the match page then no... you can't. I'd have to look into some time when I have the game open which I don't currently.

Thanks for the replies!

Is there a way to add a background to the draft screen?

While I am at it, does anyone know exactly what screens custom backgrounds can be used on?

put them in backgrounds/nations/continent/country

make sure you use the three letter short name for each country, and as always 1024*768 pixels

Hint about namings for the three letter short names for each country, one in-gmae and one out: in-game open up a player search and don't refine your criteria at all then sort by country and use the page that lists the codes, you then can seek out short names using the page numbers; out of game open the 'flags' 'small' folder in the data/images folder, the game has small flags for every nation in the game so you can use these files to easily check what name to use.

I think they should pick up the same images, if they don't then those backgrounds aren't possible I'd think :-k

EDIT: I split this topic off so any questions about team or country/league backgrounds should be posted her or threads will be deleted. Question about the default backgrounds that are located in the skins folder should go it that thread. Thanks.

I have a feeling it might not be possible. I've tried just about every conceivable permiatation. Hopefully someone can figure it out. :-?

Thanks for the help.

It worked out fine for me. my Canada bg's final destination is:
data/pictures/backgrounds/nations/North America/can.jpg

USA bg's at:
data/pictures/backgrounds/nations/North America/usa.jpg

Denmark bg's at:
data/pictures/backgrounds/nations/Europe/den.jpg

Cool thing I realize is that not only do these show up for both Men's nation team and U20 teams, they also show up on player's profile pages with the coresponding nationalities.

so CatchUP, any chance you'd put out a nations set of BGs?

I'm sure you already know but you can find large national logos at www.sportslogos.net

I'd be interested in doing that, sure. :-D

I may even bump it to the top of my list of things to do!

Is there a lot of interest in a pack of national team BG's?

:joy:

Cheers.

That would be awesome.

We could help you find big logoes for the different nations and post links here :)

I have found a couple to start off.

Czech Republic :

Australia :
http://www.nswicehockey.com.au/images/kanga-top.gif

Switzerland :
http://www.sehv.ch/Design/images/SEHV.gif (don't know if that is big enough)

Hungary :

Yep, just put the picture into the backgrounds folder (I think...)

EHM2007/data/pictures/backgrounds

If it doesn't work, Minty will help.

I'm kinda out of whack with this EHM thing after being gone for so long.

EHM2007/data/pictures/backgrounds
For individual team backgrounds, this is right on the money...

For startup/office/general screens the files go in C:\Program Files\Sports Interactive\NHL Eastside Hockey Manager 2007\data\skins\ehm_default\background

There are 4 PNG files in this directory:

chl.png - this file is displayed when viewing info about the CHL
default.png - this is the background most commonly displayed in game
office.png - this file is displayed behind the 'Front Office' screen.
startup.png - this file is used on the game's main menu when the game initially starts up.

You MUST rename the files you're replacing exactly AND they MUST be PNG's or it will not work.

So - a quick example...
You want to replace the default background with one of your own. Select the image you want to use and copy it to the directory mentioned above. Then delete default.png and re-name your file 'default.png'. That's it! HINT - remember that your file MUST be a PNG to begin with - you can't just rename a JPG.

Hope that clears it up/wasn't too confusing.

Cheers!

Need Help about backgrounds

Hi!

Excuse me to bother you with this problem... I have read all the stuff about installing teams backgrounds, and it does not work for me.

In this folder:

C:/program files/Sports Interactive/NHL Eastside Hockey Manager 2007/data/pictures/backgrounds/

I have 2 choices: a folder named "backgrounds" and another named "comps".

So I go in the second "backgrounds" folder and I have "clubs". In this one, I create the folder "National Hockey League". I then install all the beautiful pictures made by Catchup.

To resume, I install everything in this folder:

C:/program files/Sports Interactive/NHL Eastside Hockey Manager 2007/data/pictures/backgrounds/clubs/National Hockey League

But nothing changes in my game. Why?

I think I have installed everything in the right place but with no result. Can somebody help me please?

yo dude,

Here's what my directory structure looks like:

C:\Program Files\Sports Interactive\NHL Eastside Hockey Manager 2007\data\pictures\backgrounds\clubs\National Hockey League

You don't need the second backgrounds folder.
Mike_The_Strike wrote:I have 2 choices: a folder named "backgrounds" and another named "comps".

Backgrounds for other leagues would go in the same spot:
...\data\pictures\backgrounds\clubs\Ontario Hockey League
...\data\pictures\backgrounds\clubs\Western Hockey League

Etc etc.

Does that help??

Cheers.
