2005 'Vintage Card Style' Set Conversions

As time goes on more and more portions of the game world will be covered in our snazzy new TBL 2007 style cards.

The older cards will still work in EHM 2007 so for those who want to get maximum card coverage for their games, they can combine sets. However, the new cards are .jpgs not renamed .pngs (renamed .ehg) so the old style would override the new look cards.

So, in order for people to be able to still use the '05 Vintage Style Cards and have them automagically replaced by your copying them over when new TBL 07 sets are released I'm converting the Vintage sets to .jpg.

These sets will be available in the 07 section in facepacks section as "05 Converted:" sets.

So... to compile the master set of .jpg cards:
  • • Yank out all the .ehg version filess if you have them still and trash 'em ;)

    • If you already have TBL 2007 sets in your players folder rename your folder 'players07' and create a new folder called 'players'.

    • Grab the .jpg converted default EHM 2007 pictures set and copy them into your players folder.

    • Grab the "05 Coverted" Sets and copy them in to the players folder.

    • THEN either download the 07 sets or copy in the 2007 files from the 'players07' and copy over any files currently in the 'players' folder because those are older versions.

    • Each time a new set comes out simply copy the new files over the older versions and you will always have the most player coverage as well as all the new look cards. :joy:
All of these card sets of course were created by TBL's Resident Cardsmith Devils88 who is part man, part EHM card making machine 8-) If you don't believe me look at the number of cards in each set... :-o

All '05 converted sets are now available in the '07 Facepacks Sections:

Austria: 248 cards
Czech Extraleague: 423 cards
Finnish SM-Liga: 423 cards
Russia: 530 cards
Swedish Eliteserien: 299 cards

Huge thanks of course to Devils88 who created all of these cards for the TBL Community in the first place. =D>

D88 put a lot of work into creating them and you put a ton of work into converting them. I know from experience how boring converting a mass of files from one format to another can be.

Did you automate any of it? 8-)

Cheers.

I have them batch processing yeah, as I'm a fool not an idiot :-D But unfortunately due to the filename length it still leaves me a couple hundred per set that I need to rename since the dates get cut off. ](*,) Or I'd have them completed by now... but yeah it's a definite :swamped: kind of thing.

That's wierd. With my age old Paint Shop Pro 5,01 - batch converting works with long file names. The only limitation is that it won't convert more than about 100 pictures in one go.

Okay gents, you can now find seven 05 Converted 'Vintage Style' card sets in .jpg form in our 2007 Facepack sections. :joy:

Not only are they now easier to handle due to them being compatible with our 07 cards and not having the odd .ehg extension, now that they are converted to .jpgs they will save you a TON of drivespace. There's around 4000 cards here, and converting them to .jpgs saves you about 30 to 40k per card.

Enjoy 8-)
