Where to install addons [EHM 2007]

NOTE: in some cases you may have to create folders and name them as listed in this thread, the game does not create all of the following sub-folders by default.

Backgrounds: Teams
Team backgrounds belong in \NHL Eastside Hockey Manager 2007\data\pictures\backgrounds\club.

Within this sub-folder, the team backgrounds belong in folders according to their county name (for non-North American leagues) or their league name (for North American leagues). In other words, if the team background is that of a North American team, their background must be placed in a folder which is named the same as the league the team plays in (e.g. the Anaheim Ducks background (Anaheim play in the NHL) must be placed in the \NHL Eastside Hockey Manager 2007\data\pictures\backgrounds\club\National Hockey League). For teams based outside of North America, their background must be placed in a folder which is named the same as the country the team plays in (e.g. a Manchester Phoenix background (Manchester play in the British EIHL) would be placed in the \NHL Eastside Hockey Manager 2007\data\pictures\backgrounds\club\Great Britain).

Backgrounds: Competitions
Competition backgrounds belong in \NHL Eastside Hockey Manager 2007\data\pictures\backgrounds\comps. There should not be any sub-folders in the comps folder.

Backgrounds: Default Screens
There are four files within \NHL Eastside Hockey Manager 2007\data\skins\ehm_default\background. These are used for different screens:
  • chl.png - displayed when viewing info about the CHL.
  • default.png - most commonly displayed in game.
  • office.png - displayed behind the 'Front Office' screen.
  • startup.png - used in the game's main menu when the game initially starts up.
Logos: Teams
There are four logo sizes in EHM 2007:
  • Huge: Used in the GM selection screens for leagues.
  • Large: Used for team titlepanels.
  • Medium: Used in the calendar-style schedule views.
  • Small: Used in places such as the schedule/score listing screen.
These logos belong in the \NHL Eastside Hockey Manager 2007\data\pictures\logos\clubs. Within this folder there are sub-folders for each logo size (e.g. huge logos belong in \NHL Eastside Hockey Manager 2007\data\pictures\logos\clubs\huge, small logos belong in \NHL Eastside Hockey Manager 2007\data\pictures\logos\clubs\small\, etc.).

Within each of these size sub-folders, the team logos belong in folders according to their county name (for non-North American leagues) or their league name (for North American leagues). In other words, if the team logo is that of a North American team, their logo must be placed in a folder which is named the same as the league the team plays in (e.g. the huge Anaheim Ducks logo (Anaheim play in the NHL) must be placed in the \NHL Eastside Hockey Manager 2007\data\pictures\logos\clubs\huge\National Hockey League). For teams based outside of North America, their logos must be placed in a folder which is named the same as the country the team plays in (e.g. the huge Manchester Phoenix logo (Manchester play in the British EIHL) must be placed in the \NHL Eastside Hockey Manager 2007\data\pictures\logos\clubs\huge\Great Britain).

If you are ever wondering about what name to use for a Club logo/rink/news jersey etc. it is best to use the name that is displayed in the titlebar when you are on that team's roster page.

Logos: Competitions
Just like the team logos, there are four image sizes (see above): Huge, large, medium and small. The folders for each size can be found at \NHL Eastside Hockey Manager 2007\data\pictures\logos\comps.
  • All huge-sized logos belong in \NHL Eastside Hockey Manager 2007\data\pictures\logos\comps\huge. There should not be any sub-folders in the huge folder. The only exception is the National Hockey League sub-folder where seperate Eastern and Western Conference logos can be placed.
  • All large-sized logos belong in \NHL Eastside Hockey Manager 2007\data\pictures\logos\comps\large. There should not be any sub-folders in the huge folder. The only exception is the National Hockey League sub-folder where seperate Eastern and Western Conference logos can be placed.
  • All large-sized logos belong in \NHL Eastside Hockey Manager 2007\data\pictures\logos\comps\medium. There should not be any sub-folders in the medium folder. The only exception is the National Hockey League sub-folder where seperate Eastern and Western Conference logos can be placed.
  • All small-sized logos belong in \NHL Eastside Hockey Manager 2007\data\pictures\logos\comps\small. There should not be any sub-folders in the small folder. The only exception is the National Hockey League sub-folder where seperate Eastern and Western Conference logos can be placed.

Logos: Awards
Just like the team and competition logos, there are four image sizes (see above): Huge, large, medium and small. The folders for each size can be found at \NHL Eastside Hockey Manager 2007\data\pictures\logos\awards.

News Logos: Teams
Team news logos belong in \NHL Eastside Hockey Manager 2007\data\pictures\news\club.

Within this sub-folder, the team logos belong in folders according to their county name (for non-North American leagues) or their league name (for North American leagues). In other words, if the team logo is that of a North American team, their logo must be placed in a folder which is named the same as the league the team plays in (e.g. the Anaheim Ducks logo (Anaheim play in the NHL) must be placed in the \NHL Eastside Hockey Manager 2007\data\pictures\news\club\National Hockey League). For teams based outside of North America, their logos must be placed in a folder which is named the same as the country the team plays in (e.g. the Manchester Phoenix logo (Manchester play in the British EIHL) must be placed in the \NHL Eastside Hockey Manager 2007\data\pictures\news\club\Great Britain).

It also possible to have multiple sets of news logos by creating a new sub-folder in \NHL Eastside Hockey Manager 2007\data\pictures\news called set 1. The same rules above apply for this sub-folder too.

News Logos: Competitions
All logos belong in \NHL Eastside Hockey Manager 2007\data\pictures\news\comps. There should not be any sub-folders in this folder.

Player Pictures
All files belong in NHL Eastside Hockey Manager 2007\data\pictures\players. There should not be any sub-folders in the players folder.

The default player faces file type is .ehg, these are actually custom-named .png files. Player faces can be either EHG, PNG or JPG files. EHG files are exactly the same as PNG files but just have a different file extension (the extension can be switched between the two). EHM will look for a player's picture in the following way:

1) EHG
2) PNG
3) JPG

So EHG takes preference over all other file types. Only if there isn't an EHG image or PNG image for a player will EHM look for a JPG image for the player.

Player Pictures: Alternate Pictures Just For News Items
If you don't specify otherwise player news items will display that player's roster picture. However if you have an alternate picture, such as an action photo those items will be displayed instead. For these to appear all files belong in NHL Eastside Hockey Manager 2007\data\pictures\news\players. There should not be any sub-folders in the players folder.

Staff/Non-player Faces
All files belong in NHL Eastside Hockey Manager 2007\data\pictures\nonplayers. There should not be any sub-folders in the nonplayers folder.

Rink Graphics
Rink graphics are split up into five seperate elements: There is one centre face-off circle element and then an element for each of the four corner face-off circles on the rink. All of these elements are optional; so you can have one custom element for a team's rink or all five. If there isn't a custom element for a particular part of a team's rink, the default design will be used for that element.
  • Centre face-off circle: Images for this element belong in \NHL Eastside Hockey Manager 2007\data\pictures\rinks\faceoff. There should not be any sub-folders in this folder.
  • Corner face-off circle: Images for this element belong in \NHL Eastside Hockey Manager 2007\data\pictures\rinks.
Skins
Skins belong in a sub-folder of NHL Eastside Hockey Manager 2007\data\skins. Each sub-folder contains the files for an individual skin. The way the skin is named in the game depends on the name of that skin's .SKN file. That file provides a directory for the game to find the pieces that make up the skin. The file that tells the game information about colorizations specific to that skin (mainly text) has a .COL extension. These two text files belong in the skins folder itself. So, for a skin named TBL the skins folder loacted here: NHL Eastside Hockey Manager 2007\data\skins would include a sub-folder named 'TBL' and two text files, one named TBL.skn and another named TBL.col.

Custom/Updated Databases
As of Patch 3.0.3, you should leave the original EHM database unedited in NHL Eastside Hockey Manager 2007\data\database.

Custom databases can be installed by creating a new sub-folder in NHL Eastside Hockey Manager 2007\data\database. Extract the custom database into this sub-folder. When starting a new game you will be presented with the option to use the default database or your custom database. You may install as many custom databases as you like in seperate sub-folders within NHL Eastside Hockey Manager 2007\data\database.

Saved games are not affected by database updates; a new game must be started in order to see the changes.

Note: There is an element of risk when using modified databases; it could result in your saved game becoming corrupt or other in-game abnormalities. Don't let this put you off but please keep it in mind. If you have any queries about a particular database update or about an error you've encountered using a modified database, please contact the author of the update. You could do this via the TBL Forums or the Forums Private Message feature. Please note that TBL merely hosts these files. The admins are not experts on debugging saved games; we'll leave this up to SI and the update creators. When asking about problems on the TBL Forum please begin by telling us what database you are using; it may not be a game issue but a database one.

This is still a bit of a work in progress; I might be making the odd addition/correction over the next few days. If you spot anything missing or incorrect then please let me know.

In the section titled "Backgrounds: Default Screens", I quoted CatchUp's list of what each PNG does.

Did you download the 3.0.4 patch? if yes, it appears on the first screen you get when you click on the new game icon.

Lol. Those little things that we forget and that changes all :D By the way, having the latest patch is a real plus in your EHM experience. Not only to instal the latest database, but it also corrects some really annoying bugs.

Back on topic, does everything works okay for the database once you've installed the patch?

I've moved this to the Graphics and Game Add-ons forum because I don't think it's a forum announcement. I noticed this is your first post. In the future, please be aware of where you're posting and put it in the proper place. To be honest with you, I'm guessing you probably could've used an existing thread for this. You're not the first person who has experienced problems with rosters. In the future, try to do a forum search to see if the subject has already come up before.

When you installed the TBL rosters, where did you install them to? Are you sure they went to the right location? If so, when you go to start a new game, you should be able to choose which database you are using. Also, are you starting a new game? This won't change your rosters in an existing game. The new rosters only show up when you start a new game.

You may want to check out this...

http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/vi ... php?t=2395

It explains where to install custom databases. That should solve your problem. I'm going to lock this thread for now. If you're still having problems after this, please use the forum search feature and use an existing thread.

I've done like you've written in this text but nothing happens when I creates a new game.

D:\NHL Eastside Hockey Manager 2007\data\database\TBL_Roster_Update_v1.2

I've done like that, thats correct? but it is just as before.
But i only have the demo, can that be the reason?

please help me
/Biirk
The ability to install multiple databases in different sub-folders within the "database" folder was only introduced in Patch 3.0.3. The demo is based on something like 3.0.1 and so it doesn't have this ability. Instead, make a backup of the "database" folder and then put the files from the Roster Update directly into the "database" folder.

However, if you can use the 3.0.3 patch with the demo then that would give you the ability to use multiple databases in different sub-folders. Can anyone confirm whether you can patch the demo version? Having had the full version since it was released, I don't know whether this does/doesn't work.

I seem to be having the problem with 3.0.4, but i'm not getting anything that lets me pick a certain database.

Then you propably have it in the wrong folder.

Original database: ehm/data/database

Added databases: ehm/data/database/TBL Rosters 1.3 (for example)

Facepack Installation Help

Hi everyone ive just started playing EHM2007 and i want too put the facepacks into the game but after seeing the list im confused about which ones too download.

Can anyone give me some idea of the best ones because i dont want too be wasting time downloading the same players.

Posted: Fri Feb 01, 2008 10:11 pm
by getzlaf15
All of 'em,

In my opinion, the TBL style cards are the best, theres packs for the AHL, NHL. If you go in the DL section and the north american section, the 1's that begin with TBL are the ones. There's a lot. :-D

Cheers m8 i have downloaded all of them and installed them but non of them show in my game

I made the mistake of putting a folder inside a folder at 1st and i could see all the pics but when i copied them too the proper folder all i could see was the file number and the file.

Could my prob be anything too do with what i use too open my files or is it something else?

If someone can help me sort this i would be grateful coz so far im loving the game :-)

I got this from "Where to install addons" guide from this very forum.

I'm guessing you still don't have them in the right place. It shouldn't have anything to do with what you use to view your files. Also, what do you mean by "file number"? Each face card has a player's name and birthday as the file name. The files you are downloading are zipped. You have to use something like WinZip or WinRAR to extract the images from the zip and put them in the folder listed above.

Thanks for that i have put them in E:\Program Files\Sports Interactive\NHL Eastside Hockey Manager 2007\data\pictures\players because i havent got enough space on my c drive.

When i said file number i did mean the name and the birthdate and i am unzipping the files with winrar

It needs to be where the game is, obviously. Creating a string of folders, with the correct names to another drive is not going to do it.

If your game is at C, then the pics need to be there too.
