It says 10-year-old Julia will be between the pipes for division-II team Traneborg. The club only has two female goalies, and the ordinary one is away.

Finally, one of the Swedes shows up to tell us what's going on.

So this 10 year old girl is playing for one of the division 2 swedish teams?

That's pretty hardcore if I understood that right...

The reason to why she gets to play is beacause Tranebergs (the club) other goalkeeper isn't avaible.

And she is the only girl who is goalkeeper in the club now.

A small update here.

Julia started against Linköping and faced 20 shots, turning aside 17 of them. However, her team lost 2-3.

The Swedish Hockey Association president, Christer Englund, criticized Traneborg for playing her, saying it could leave 'scars for life'.

Englund, who got very upset when an anonymous agitating player revealed what was being said on the ice in an interview with a tabloid last playoffs. Englund was very surprised and said mean comments ought to be taken out of the game.
