From 2007/2008 the AHL will include 29 teams new members are Rockford IceHogs (now in UHL) and Erie Lake Monsters. Rockford IceHogs will be Chicago Blackhawks primary affiliation and Lake Erie Monsters will be Colorado Avalanche primary affiliation. Is it possible to change this in the game or is the number of teams locked for the AHL.

As far as i know this is possible, it can be done on the pre-game ediotr, all you need to do is choose the team you want to change the leauge of and just change the "divsion" and the "other division" of the team, and to change the affiliation, just go on affiliations along the top and change the "upper club", to which ever it is, in this case, the avs and the blackhawks, it's fairly straight forward i think!

I'm not for sure but I think you can only replace teams, you can't take away or add teams. You can only have the set number of teams the game started with I think.

You can't change the number of teams in a league.
I'm 99% sure affilliations can't be changed either.

I tested last night with the editior (did a backup to the DB), in the beginning it went smooth but the first problem was to get the affiliation between the new Ahl teams and the ECHL teams, I couldn´t find the new teams in the list. Then I gave up. So really never tested if it is possible to add teams to AHL, probably not as InStaaled said, would be suprised if it was possible cause it´s a playable league. Anyone who have tried to add teams to playable leagues.

You can't add teams to a playable league - you can only replace a team in the league with another.
The number of teams required in the league is hardcoded and not a database issue.
