There's a player on my team asking to be traded.

What if I don't trdae him? Will he greatly underperform?

He might. He could also disrupt your clubhouse. Was there a reason he asked to be traded? If the situation is resolved, he might withdraw his request. Also, sometimes a player will change his mind and say he wants to stay with the team if the team starts to do really well. Honestly, you're best bet is to look at what made him want to be traded. If it's a guy you want to keep, try to make him happy.

However, if it's a player you can get rid of, accept his request Then, maybe nobody will want him and he'll stop complaining after a while (especially if you're a winning team).

I've only received a few trade requests on EHM '07, but they were all because of contract demands. Well, except one. Had Steve Montador as 7th D in Buffalo, and he wanted out because of the 'media pressure'.

I had to trade my star 1st line center (eric staal) because of cap problems (had to resign all but 5 of my starters) and my fourth line LW (Adam Henrich) said he was widdled by that and wanted to be traded away.

The problem is I like him a lot and wished to keep him.

I know the team is good but the cap is killing this year. Already had to trade away cheechoo (for a 1st rounder and Dubinin).
I guess i should trade him away. I offered to all and I could get a 3rd and a 6th for Henrich.

You offered him to all and just accepted the best offer you got? You could have negotiated a bit.

A 3rd and a 6th is usually not a bad deal for a 4th liner... However, i don't know Henrich, so i can't really judge If he's a youngster with tons of potential, a 3rd and a 6th is a very bad deal! If he's no longer a youngster, try to negociate a bit, but you could clearly get rid of him.

IIRC, he's in his early to mid 20's. He's got a nice shot but not too much else really. Not a bad player but certainly not irreplaceable. I'd see if you could negotiate with them to get a 2nd rounder. Maybe include your 6th or 7th round pick to sweeten the pot?

If someone is offering a 3rd and a 6th, in all likelihood from my experience you could easily negoitate a 2nd for him. Without adding anything except maybe a prospect who is usually one star, but for some reason the team you are dealing with ranks as a 3 star prospect.

I like to keep my 6th-7th round because I have great scouts and usually get players who turn out to be 3-star players that can be used to get better players.

Just for you to see that Henrich is not so bad

He is clearly not bad at all! Already an established 3rd liner, or a poor man's 2nd liner. Furthermore, he's cheap, which is always good news in the cap days If i were you, i wouldn't accept his trade request nor trade him away (unless getting a really interesting deal, for sure )

He should be a part of a big deal to land a big name to your team, but trading him alone won't give you that much in return IMO.

Wow! He's turned out pretty darn good in your game. He kind of seems like he's being wasted on the 4th line.

Yup, with enough icetime and a solid playmaker on the line he should be capable of 40 goals.

I denied his trade request and put him on the third line with newly acquired Shafigullin and Smolenak. He had 2 goals and 2 assists in an 11-1 win over Ottawa. He may be unhappy but it doesn't seem to hurt much

Lol! With that kind of performances, he could soon be back to happiness
