Hello,
Give it a unfaking DB or need a unfake for EHM2007?

There's no unfake DB for EHM 2007 because an editor first needs to be created to edit the EHM's data.

Give it a externally editor and when comes the first patch (update)?

No one knows when the first patch will be available. Probably within a few weeks.
Yes, an external editor needs to be developed. The people at SI didn't have the time to create one themselves.

The first patch is actually out but it wasn't the scheduled first patch which is rumored to have a database update so that patch will not be realeased untila fter the NHL season is going for a bit and after
that is released is when they plan to begin work on the unfaking update.
Devils88 did the NCAA unfaking last year so if he takes a break from card generation he may do so again this year as well

We'll have to wait and see I guess.
when is the unfaking released???

This is all up to however fast the unfaking authors can pull it together and how much time they choose to spend testing it before release. The patch caused a lot of the details to change so I think that could delay things a bit. They usually have several threads at the SI Forums about it.

I don't believe they have announced a date yet but let's all hope it's soon.

Who does the unfaking?

by Minstrel
It changes with whoever lends a hand, but last year it was mainly Javs and kindhander who both are also testers/researchers. I've emailed Javs to let them know I'd help out if they'd like but haven't heard anything back and don't know if I will.
I've also let them know that if the project is properly tested, includes a Changelist to let people know exactly what has been changed and does not alter any player attributes we'll be happy to carry it for them.
Those terms however have caused problems in the past so I don't know what will happen which is why I suggest looking at one of their many threads in the SI Forums as they prefer to post their details there instead

Unfaking is released

yeah its been released. we can finally play the game

i didnt really know where to post this, but this seemed like the right one. move it if its wrong.
ADMIN NOTE:
This year, The Blue Line is not supporting the Unfaking Patch. The reason being is that its creators will not tell us what they changed. They haven't just renamed things, they have changed the attributes of many players. However, they refuse to go into any details as to what they've changed. We kept asking them last year what they had changed and they got annoyed with us.
This year we said we'd only host their file if they'd be willing to provide us and our users with details of what they had changed. They ignored our request and hence we shall be giving absolutely no support whatsoever regarding the Unfaking Patch.
Whilst one of their members is the Head Researcher for Russia, how does that mean they have sufficient knowledge of the North American leagues to make a whole host of changes to the players' attributes? The North American researchers are the guys that get to see the players play every week so why can't we just stick with the attributes that those researchers set in the first place? This is why we no longer support the Unfaking Project. We just don't know exactly what the Unfakers have altered because they won't tell us. All we know is that they have changed attributes, apparently "to make the game more realistic".
Changing all of these attributes has a significant effect on gameplay; for example, increasing most or every NHL players' scoring attributes is going to result in more shots and goals per game. Mass editting on this scale can counter or exaggerate any tweaks and changes made by official SI patches for the game.

What was wrong with the game in the first place?
Just make sure you remove it when you're taking part in the challenge as we you aren't allowed to using any unfaking in the challenges

I'm having the same problem as redwingsfan, i have no clue how to run multiple databases. I've been waiting for this unfaking patch for quite a while now (because it really is much more fun playing the finnish league with real team names and coaches), but i don't want their messing around with the attributes to effect any nhl-games i might be starting in the future. So please, help...

A simple way to do it is this:
Extract the unfaking db to a folder called Databaseunf. Put this in the same folder as your original database folder. When you want to do an unfaked game rename the original database folder to databasefak and rename the Databastunf folder to database. Do the opposite if you want to play an original db game. Think this will work although I haven't looked at which files the unfaking patch overwrites so I'm not 100% sure

Are you guys sure they have changed attributes? As far as I understood, the first version just released has only unfaked the names, while the next version will include an update (move players around) and maybe change attributes.
But I could be wrong

That is what I thought as well, I wouldn't download anything that did change attributes, but would gladly download something which only changed faked names to real ones. I'm fairly sure it was said at SI forums that this version 1 did not change any attributes.
